Of all the food related places we visited on Tybee Island, The Deck was superior to them all. It's located at what appeared to be a former pool house in a comlex (I might be wrong), but it takes nothing from the experience. Parking is available on the ground level of the resort, and restaurant parking spots are clearly marked and in the shade. Follow posted decals to get to the restaurant after you park. The inside is quite big and spacious, and if you sit inside, you still have a view of the beach. We chose to sit outside. It was an extremely hot day, but they had a fan with spraying mist, and it was quite pleasant. First of all, this is the first place where we actually ate a good SALAD. The Wedge was absolutely delicious. We also tried the house specialty, the grilled grouper with veggies and coconut rice, as well as the calamari. Everything was cooked to perfection. From the drinks menu, we tried their non alcoholic frozen drinks, the pinacolada, and the mudslide, no complaints. They even made a coctail for my husband that wasn't on the menu after he told our server what his favorite coctail was. Just wow! Now, our server, Eli, was the cherry on top. The BEST server we have encountered EVER! Attentive, fast, funny, caring... can't say enough good things about this guy.. Whatever they are paying him, it's not enough. He is a walking and talking marketing for the place. We enjoyed his service and personality as much as the food. He is an experience in itself. If you ever go to Tybee Island, definitely visit The Deck. If you are lucky enough to get Eli, you've won...

Don’t miss this place!!! Very poor signage! Look for the symbol not the name. It’s sits behind The Vue condos. Park in the deck, follow it around, to the bottom, spaces are marked. Restaurant is only accessible by this route unless you are coming off the Beach! Great atmosphere with a staff that really seemed to enjoy waiting on us! You can smell the ocean and feel the Breeze! There’s nothing better so already a fave! It was 96 degrees and the fans kept us very cool in this casual relaxing indoor/outdoor atmosphere! I had the Fish and Chips. The French Fries were like steak fries and fresh not frozen. I am not a French Fry lover. The fish had a light, slightly crisp batter that held together well and was fried just right! It was not overly seasoned so you had the ability to do it your way! I ❤️ that!! The Cole Slaw was not my favorite, but my Husband’s cant be beat! Fun drink menu and an all around great experience!!! That’s my part of the review. Simple, like me, but true!
My Husband is an Executive Chef and this is his review of his Lunch…show off….🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shrimp and Grits - The grits were tender and creamy with just enough smoked Gouda in the background to not overpower. I should have asked where the sausage came from because it was a fantastic meaty andouille. Plump tender fresh Shrimp served atop will not disappoint. Although the dish could have used a little more sauce and was missing the fried shallots as promised. But most impressive, it was a serving that my hearty appetite could not quite finish. A...
Read moreFirst of all, ELI is the man! Awesome service from this guy. I think we ordered everything he suggested and we were not disappointed. This was his last weekend at the Deck because he was transferring to the Collins Quarter in Savannah. So if you ever Dine at The Collins Quarter, ask for Eli! The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the drinks refreshing! We had a round of virgin daiquiris and pina coladas for the underage and some proper refreshments for the experienced folks at the table. The Legendary Bloody Mary was of course legendary! The spicy mango margarita was nice. I’m not much of a bloody Mary person but I could have had a couple of those Legendary Bloody Mary’s for my entree. Bacon, grilled shrimp, olives and pickled okra! That drink was exciting! But that’s what you get from a $20 drink. Around the table we had a fried Cobia sandwich, a shrimp burger, a deck burger, some fried shrimp, fried calamari, and a surf and surf. The Shrimp burger disappeared just as quickly as it came. I’m glad I happened to get a picture of it before it was devoured. The Surf and Surf was the special for the night and was definitely something special. All the food was great! Everyone departed with full bellies and big smiles! One of the best dining experiences in all of our travels and Eli was the composer that put it all together. Then we walked right out the back deck to enjoy a nice relax time on the beach. This was a memorable end to an evening...
