Savannah | A Beachside Bar That Stays True to Itself

Our unit was spectacular. Founded on Airbnb. A hallway entry, meaning no beach view, but well worth it losing the view to have a totally private patio with a personal hot tub, ceiling fans, hanging/swinging chairs, very few insects. The unit was sparkling clean, not a single complaint. The restaurant, had red fish tacos, didn't care for and waitress was slow and inattentive for a non-crowded establishment. Lots of wheelchair accessibility, and handrails to guide those with vision impairments. Liked that there's a sprinkler system inside the unit as well. The outside doesn't do it justice. Beach access, from inside to the boardwalk on the beach was basically like walking one city block. Incredibly convenient. Their signage for the restaurant was great, but signage to "2nd level", to the beach or even the pools, and the outdoor showers was non-existent and disappointing and led to a bunch of aimless wandering the second day there. Not fun. But everyone we encountered was friendly. Watch out for MAGA hats though, this is Trump country. And a couple with said hats got into a physical altercation right on the resort's beach and watched a very muscular man full-force punch a woman in her face. The staff in the restaurant laughed about it. No one called the police.

The pool was nice, the restaurant had good food and the condo was a decent size, but that’s where it ends. We found a nyc sized dead RAT on our back porch on the first day. They gave us a gift card for it but they took to long to come get it we ended up having to roll it off the balcony, the smell was absolutely horrible. It had been dead for a while. The pocket door was broke and my 1 year old son got his head stuck in It when it slammed shut. The exit sign was hanging from a wire. The fence out back was broke and just laying there along with years of cigarette butts and beer cans. We paid over $5600 for condo 411 and I’ve never been this disappointed in my life. The inside was also extremely dirty and old hair clumps all over the tub. Dishwasher didn’t work, 2 TVs didn’t work and had to be replaced the second day. The balcony was literally falling apart. Stay away. Go somewhere else. Save your money.

DON'T!!!! Do not under any circumstances rent unit 321....we were there for January and February 2025, our 15th year on Tybee Island, and decided to upgrade our stay to an oceanfront unit....the rental agent was difficult to reach, even though we had rented through her before, and we were very willing to send our deposit to the owner well ahead of time. The price was high, but we were willing to pay it to be on the beach (I have since learned that for off season and long term we ended up paying around $1500 more than we should have). All that being said, in mid-February our kitchen sink backed up, as well as the dishwasher. I notified the manager at once, after my husband tried to solve the problem by resetting the garbage disposal (he's a retired contractor), and she did send a plumber right away. No luck...he returned the next day, said he had located the clog in the unit below us, and said we were good to go. We weren't. I again texted the manager, who said that she wouldn't pay "overtime" for the plumber and railed about the cost of the repair. She offered to move us to another building for the time we had left....by that time I was done. It would have meant packing up, unpacking again, and at our stage of life it was far more than we were willing to do. We left early, after a stint with paper plates, washing pots and pans in the bathroom, which had been slow to drain from the get-go, and a promise from the manager for a small reimbursement for the time we couldn't be there. The stench was almost unbearable, and we endured days of black standing water in the kitchen sink and leaking under the sink. I messaged the manager a week ago, and she has ignored me. I have no choice but to post this review in the hopes that the owner acts appropriately. (By the way, the unit was less than spotless, when we arrived, including a dead palmetto bug in the dust behind the living room credenza.....and there was no vacuum cleaner or mop for me to use...not at all the "luxury accommodations" I had willingly paid for).) Our stay at Beachside Colony Resort in Tybee Island, GA, was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning ocean views, luxurious amenities, and top-notch service.

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking beach view from our Airbnb. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and the sight of the sun rising over the ocean was truly magical. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, providing the perfect retreat after a day of beachside adventures.

The resort's pool was another standout feature, offering a refreshing oasis for relaxation and fun in the sun. Whether we were lounging by the pool with a tropical drink in hand or taking a refreshing dip to cool off, the pool area provided endless hours of enjoyment for the whole family.

One of our favorite spots at Beachside Colony Resort was the Deck Bar, where we enjoyed delicious cocktails and snacks while soaking in the panoramic views of the ocean. The laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff made it the perfect spot to unwind and savor the beauty of Tybee Island.

In addition to the fantastic amenities, the resort's location couldn't be beat. With direct beach access just steps away from our Airbnb, we were able to easily explore the pristine sands and sparkling waters of Tybee Island's beaches.

Overall, our experience at Beachside Colony Resort exceeded all expectations. From the stunning ocean views and luxurious accommodations to the fantastic pool and Deck Bar, every aspect of our stay was truly unforgettable. We can't wait to return to this slice of paradise on...

Unit 127 has terribly misleading pictures of the beach. When you see the picture on the website then see the view that you actually get, you will be terribly disappointed. There is absolutely no view of the beach! You can see a sliver of the ocean between two palm trees. The master bath shower is equally disappointing. The shower has extremely low pressure. We rented the condo for the weekend-Friday and Saturday night-for $849. After we agreed to the rental, our card was charged $1191 plus $135 fee from VRBO. Housekeeping fee of $155, Guest Fee $40(I have idea what that is), $149 taxes and the $135 VRBO fee. Be very careful of the fees! The unit was clean, parking was under the condo and a nice location for walking around the town. Just don’t plan on sipping wine on the deck while enjoying the ocean view.

July 24, 2021: They have labeled the misleading photo, although the label is not clearly seen because another text box is located directly over the pictures label. I have tried to put a review on their website but they will not publish it. I’ve tried 3 times! I tried to “chat” with them and the first time they just disconnected, the second time they gave me an email address to find out why the review is not being posted. The condo was fine, my reason for all this is to inform potential renters that they will not be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy...
