De Palma — Restaurant in Union City

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I have ordered from this restaurant before and have never experienced worse customer service by the women who answers the phone (who refused to give me her name but said she's the only female that works there). First, we were given a delivery time of 7pm and our food was delivered at 8pm. Upon our initial call at 7:15 to get a better time as to when the order would arrive, since we were told it would be around 7, the woman was completely rude. She said delivery takes an hour once it leaves the restaurant. Um what? an hour? It'll be frozen after an hour of leaving the restaurant. The delivery address and phone number we gave were both correct when we ordered online. This illiterate woman gave the delivery guy the wrong address and she said the delivery guy was "trying" to call the number we gave but we weren't answering. Then she said he was outside so we go outside, no delivery driver any where. After 15 more minutes we called back, the manager answered and stated that the delivery man came to our apartment and left because we weren't there. False. The driver then called our phone (magically got the correct number) and asked for our address. Once our order arrived at our apartment, the delivery man showed us the address that she gave him which was completely incorrect. Unbelievable. I called back to get her name and she refused to give it to me. When I asked to speak to the manager, "he had just left to make a delivery." When we spoke to the delivery guy and complained about the woman who answered the phones there he said, "yeah, we get complaints about her all the time. I don't know why they keep her." I want to start off and say, to DePalma's credit, they have the best hot and cold sandwiches and dinner dishes in the area and they have never failed to deliver top notch quality on those items. Likewise, the male manager (I think a family member) who takes orders and answers the phone does an amazing job and never fails to get an order correct. When he is around, everything gets done and the friendly and great staff run like a well oiled machine.

Their biggest failing, though, is the female manager (also a family member I think) that seems to crack under the least bit of pressure. Whenever ordering with her, the pizzas come out underdone and nothing seems to make it to the kitchen in a timely manner. This came to a point recently when she let the phone ring for 4 minutes before taking my order then telling me the pizza would be ready in "25" minutes. When I arrive 30 minutes later to pick it up, I see that they are just putting it in the oven as I arrive. The pizza was underdone and inedible. If she answers when you try to order - hang up.

Like I said - this place is great with food and sandwiches - but the 60 minute wait for underdone pizza was a night killer and a real...

I was there the other day so I can reserve the party room for a baby shower and then when I gave them the date he just looked quick through the book and said that they're booked for the whole November I call a few days l later just because I had a feeling it was discriminating because of my appearance and so I called and the young lady told me they have an opening for the day I originally needed now I noticed when I got home that he never asked me what time I want to do it so I had a feeling it had to do with my appearance. I've been booking parties in that place In the past years my sisters and my cousins my friends I recommended everyone and I would assume it's the owner and the old man with white hair I would've been OK if he just said no we can't serve you he just lost a lot of business worst customer service ever never buying food or recommending the place again. Talk about discrimination.. oh and since they do have available openings I've decided not to reserve with them after this I guess the river edge dinner would definitely appreciate my...
