If I could give them zero stars, I would.
I ordered catering for pickup over the phone the morning of 5/9/21 for a 4pm pickup for a family gathering due to the death of my uncle which also happened to be Mother's Day. They immediately charged my credit card.
When my cousin went to pick up the food at 4pm, they told him they didn't have anything ready and sent him to another location, which didn't have the food order either. They didn't have any information about the order based on my number or my name, which was what I was told to provide over the phone.
When I called the restaurant for a solution, the woman who picked up the phone told me was that she didn't speak English and no one one available could speak English either. They had no problem taking my order over the phone.
I went to the restaurant 5/10 to dispute the charge as I paid for $200+ worth of food that I did not receive. The manager there called the manager on duty from 5/9. Their only response was that someone picked up the food (who wasn't me or my cousin) and they could not do anything about it including refunding my card for food that I never received.
They are telling me to come back tomorrow to talk to the manager from 5/9. This is ridiculous, and as you can imagine, I am livid. Not only did I not have food for my family's occasion, I have wasted my time on calls and going back and forth to the restaurant to make this right.
UPDATE After all of this, I was finally refunded on 5/11. Why it had to take that long and waste my time, I'm not sure. They should of just given me the food I payed for when they realized they messed up the order 5/9. Instead, it was an entirely...
Read moreI've always driven by this place and heard excellent things, so this morning I decided to finally stop in for some breakfast. I was expecting somewhere I could sit and view the menu, but there was no menu posted anywhere on the wall and there didn't seem to be any menus that I could look at. What I really wanted was a breakfast sandwich, but seeing nothing at all that said those were available, I decided to order from the pastry case. There were so many items and not being familiar with Colombian food, I didn't know what to choose. I chose an empanada (ranchero), a hawaiian stuffed pastry, and a couple of buñuelos. The women behind the counter were friendly taking my order, heating the items up for me, and handing them over, but strangely dropped the smile and didn't say Thank you or goodbye when I said it to her. Even as I put tip in the tip jar, she didn't smile at me again. I thought that was a little bit strange. Once I got back to my car and resumed my commute to work, I tasted the food. Every single thing was DElicious! I've never had such flaky, lightly crisp empanadas and I love empanadas. The bunuelos were excellent and I loved the flavor of the cheese. The hawaiian pastry was a little weird because the sweetness of the pineapple contrasted with the savory cheese and ham in there, but I guess that's the point! I want to try the location that's a couple blocks over, to see if I can view their full menu. But definitely want to come back here and will sample more of...
Read moreThis is my third time reducing this review down to one star. Disorganization will be putting it lightly. The staff here needs proper training and management really needs to establish best practices and make it their priority. From waiting on tables, to taking orders on the line and on GrubHub, this establishment isn't ready to accommodate the demand. GrubHub (and all other online ordering platforms are not kept up to date and therefore Noches de Colombia take it upon themselves to replace lesser valued items on your order with no refund of the difference making it a loss for the consumer). Families literally walked out of the restaurant for waiting more than 20 min., I waited more than 25 min for a GrubHub order that said it was ready for pick up.
Why is a fairly small cup of orange juice priced over $7.00? Why is a small piece of flan $7.75?? Why do they attach an additional charge for take out orders, meaning, if you walk in to order takeout food, they will charge you a fee!
Meals are either well prepared or they're not. 'Cafe con leche' with a 'pan de bono' or two is always a good choice (you just need to make sure they do not serve you cold 'pan de bono').
Seating is very minimal, the general area is very cramped and although some of the staff tries (I do give them credit for trying), it's incredibly difficult for English speaking individuals to make an order (in person or by phone), leaving us with a 50/50 chance that we will...
