Went to the restaurant at Eastgate. Being from out of town I figured Mexican would be a safe choice for a meal. How wrong I was! We placed our order and within minutes our food was out. Noticed the party of 6 next to us also received their food almost immediately after placing their order. I have never been to a restaurant where that’s ever happened. Even fast food restaurants usually cook your meal. I had the carne asada which lacked flavor and was extremely undercooked/raw in some spots. My boyfriend had the chiles rellenos which tasted like they were frozen and reheated. The salsa was terrible, it had a weird tomato flavor. It was about $52 for both our meals which is high compared to other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to, I don’t think their food is worth the cost. I’ll definitely not ever dine here again. 1 star for the staff being pleasant and having clean bathrooms. PROS: little wait time when I went, nice decor, clean bathroom, pleasant staff CONS: flavorless food, undercooked meat, very pricey for what you get

It was mediocre from the food to my jumbo pina colada that didn't seem to have any alcohol in it. I get them at any restaurants that serves them and this was by far the worst place to get one. I feel like I paid $10 for a nonalcoholic beverage and I had even requested a certain kind of rum in it I didn't get even a slight buzz from it and anywhere else I've never had that issue. My taquitos were burnt making it hard to eat theme and lacked basic flavor and that seemed to be the case with all 4 meals we got tonight. We paid $90 including the tip and I don't think we'll return. It was definitely a disappointment. The only good part about it was how nice the servers are. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want overpriced food that should be better than it is considering the price.

Such a beautiful restaurant. Noah was our waiter this evening and we have zero complaints. Very courteous, friendly and professional. We have been going here for a few years now and have never had a bad experience. Their restrooms are absolutely gorgeous. You really need to check this place out. Food is delicious and sizzling hot with large portions. And the price wasn’t bad either. $99 for five of us. Not bad considering we pay more for cheaper family sit down restaurants Also pet friendly!!🐾🐾🐾🐾 Also want to add that our waiter, Gio is the best. Been back 3 more times

Very disappointed last night. I order the same thing every time I visit a Mexican restaurant--one side of grilled onions, two side of grilled shrimp and a side of white cheese poured over the top with a cup of lemonades or tea. At Los Cabos and Don Rigos in Amelia, this is around $13 to $15. At El Rancho Grande in Eastgate, last time I was there prior to Christmas, this was about $16--certainly in line with everyone else. LAST NIGHT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY!! We came in and I ordered the same thing. The waiter tells me he'll put in in as a Fajita since it will be cheaper, So he serves our dinner, brings me all this other stuff I didn't order, then my shrimp and onions, missing the white cheese which he did eventually bring. To be fair, my shrimp was pretty good. But the shocker came when he brought my bill for $26.66!!! WTF?? I point out to the waiter that this seems WAY to high and ask him to please check to see what the bill would be for my original order--one side of onions, two side of grilled shrimp and a side of white cheese. He says he'll ask the manager. He comes back two minutes later and says the manager said it "would be about the same amount for just the sides". Wow. Thanks management for all your effort in this matter.....not. I don't smoke anymore but felt like I should have smoked a cigarette after the screwing i received last night. Feel like my bill was almost double what it should have been and management not too concerned about a...

I'll start by saying the second star was only saved by the amazing bartender Giovanni. Before that, we received ZERO service. Apparently our server was a tall, skinny, curly blonde haired fellow. He never once came by the table. My husband and I finished our chips and salsa and still nothing. This was Thursday evening. I went to the hostess and Giovanni came by to take our order. Our food was decent (we have been spoiled by the Kenwood location for food and service.) But our server continued to never stop by the table. No refills. Nothing. We did see him going to other tables. We were so fed up that I got boxes for our food and we went to sit at the bar for another drink. Let me tell you my shock when our previois server came by the bar and took a shot of tequila that was sitting on the bar. Extremely unprofessional. Was this employee getting drunk on the clock instead of serving us?? I have worked in the restaurant industry my whole life and very little shocks me but this did. It was his loss that I am an EXTREMELY generous tipper. Giovanni took great care of us at the bar and we would visit again only to sit at the bar and order drinks if...

It's been awhile since I last visited El Ranco Grande, just because Covid has kept us at home more. Upon entering the restaurant you immediately notice the beautiful renovations that occurred since my last visit. It's really nice and elevated the whole dining experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. (It was great to see so many other diners...a rare site these days in most any restaurant.) The menu looked great. I noticed some new additions like their fresh Street Tacos. But, I was in the mood for their Chicken Soup. It's a healthy portion of of healthy vegetables, oodles of chicken breast and just the right amount of rice. I asked to eliminate the avocado but substituted instead for fresh cilantro. They happily obliged. The touch of a fresh lime which I spritzed into the soup added a tasty freshness. This soup is a simple pleasure that is such a great find. And, leftovers for at least one other meal. Okay, I'm going on and on about the soup. But, it's that special. So order appetizers, cervaza or margaritas to enhance the meal. Then, leave a great tip for such good food and great service and...
