Panera Bread — Restaurant in Union Township

A red-headed guy making our food just stood there, bug eyes staring at us. My man asked how he was doing. Did not answer. Then he asked if there was a problem. Guy answers that we were staring at him first. Honestly kind creepy. My man said no your staring at us kinda rudely. He said it was his job to. Then started to go off at us bout how we probably listened to heavy metal wearing all black. Yeah we had black matching Veterans shirts at the time but that was very rude and judgmental. He just kept going off bout some crazy stuff and tried to get my man to fight him. Anyways the food is good and other people working were nice but just that one guy makes me never want to go back. Lady Said that he does stair because he's autistic....but that's no reason to be so mean. I have helped raise someone autistic and worked with other adults autistic. That was just bad. I get staring but...

I’ve yet to have a friendly encounter with an employee here. I keep on telling myself to give it another try. I think they forget they are literally sandwiches between Chick-Fil-A & City Barbecue- two establishments notorious for their customer-friendly attitudes. Panera, as a business has gone so far downhill, it’s a wonder that they haven’t bankrupted & shut down. If it weren’t for my daughter loving the broccoli cheddar soup, I wouldn’t come near. It’s impossible to walk out of the door without spending $15/person... for subpar foods with tiny portions (I know, I know- very “American” of me to say- I’m not saying the portions should all be bigger... just proportionate to the price being paid.) I subscribe to the 10.99 per month sip club, which in and of itself is a great value. That's why they get 2 stars. Otherwise there would be no stats. Im not sure if this location has bad management or what, but something is severely wrong. I go in every morning for iced coffee. Roughly 60% of the time it is out or so old its disgusting. I hear hot coffee doesnt have that issue. It makes it worse when basically every staff member over 20 years old is rude and has zero customer service. They need to switch their current morning staff cashiers to be cooks or something. They are not up to par to be the face of the store. The store is typically fairly dirty but not overly bad. They run out of cups a lot. I really hope they keep better tabs on the iced coffee. At least give us fresh...
