After a poor experience last couple times, we hadn't been in months. Went tonight for dinner around 7 pm. Food was fresh and staff was super friendly and attentive. First we were greeted warmly by Tasha who got our drinks and rang us out. Our server was Dawn who kept our table clean and drinks constantly full. The gentleman Manning the grill was i believe named Johann and his steaks were perfectly made to order and he was wven nice enough to bring them to us at the table because there were no well done when we asked. Had a mich more enjoyable visit thia go round. The only downside was some woman and her kids/grandkids use the toilet didn't wash hands and they proceeded to touch the food with bare hands. Obviously this is no fault of the restaurant but it did put a little damper on things for me. We'll happily go again as long as the improvements remain. See below for previous review for comparison.
Went at 7:25, they close at 9. Grill area had already been closed , no steaks being cooked at all. Food was empty and what there was was old and dried out. Asked for service a couple times and was ignored. Finally asked cashier for a refund. She was rude and said she'd get the manager. After a couple minute conversation in Spanish, thinking that we would not understand them manage. Your finally came over and gave us a refund. But what they don't realize is I do speak some Spanish and know when I'm being made fun of and called names. Just saying if you don't have enough guts to say it to someone's face, maybe you shouldn't say it at all because you never know when they're going to...
Read moreSo I'm from California and the Golden corral out there is completely different than the one in Ohio, first off, their people have an actual chef that cook the steaks to perfection, in Ohio o asked for a medium well steak, the last have me a are steak the first time and a medium rare the second, like she had never cooked steak for herself and not know that with thick steak you have to split the meat in order to thoroughly cook the meat, not just give the appearance of cooked right. Secondly in Cali, they had around 15 people working the display area as well as the tables, the one in Ohio had a skeleton crew, there was 1 person for 3 sections and only 3 people for the entire restaurant tables. 1 person cooking the steaks was also cleaning stuff and going back and forth to other food areas. This place will close soon due to managerial decisions and lack of properly training their people as well as a lack of interest in hiring real talented people, the golden coals in California started hitting chefs straight out of the community college because they could cook way better than the people they had before. This was absolutely the worst experience I've had since the golden corral had been bought out and merged with the other buffet company over 10 years ago. Do way better. Even the carrot cake was horrible and the one in Cali tasted great, the one in Ohio, their icee machine didn't work for all 3 flavors, their chocolate fountain wasn't working right. Just issues everywhere.
1/10 stars. My kids love golden corral and told me they never want to go back to that one again. I...
Read moreWe went on a Friday about 4:30pm. It wasn't super packed upon arrival. We chose a table in a less populated area. Unfortunately the people next to us wete very loud and obnoxious. Watching videos on their phone and having phone calls on speaker. You could tell they had been there for a while but they were still there when we left. I really believe there should be like make 1.5-2 hour time limit at buffets for people like this, that weren't even eating, just hanging out and every 20-30 minute they'd get a small plate to graze on. Anyways, the bigger woman in that group started choking and someone ran over and gave her the heimlich. That was interesting. Food wise, everything was pretty good. The price was 14.99 per person for friday dinner. With 1 soft drink and tax it was $40 for 2 people. Renee, our server was very sweet and attentive. The crowd at this is quite shady. There's some shady characters around and it was a little uncomfortable. Pretty sure we seen a man come out of the woman's restroom. I enjoyed the fried chicken, dinner rolls, sweet potato mash, and the garlic cheese biscuits. The dessert are always the best. They did not have chocolate soft serve which was disappointing. The vanilla melts SUPER fast. I liked the cakes and brownies. It started getting PACKED around 530-6pm so get there early or you'll have problems finding a table. My boyfriend enjoyed the Mac and cheese. I didn't get a sald this time or fancy meats. The chicken tenders were good as well....
