My wife is a vegetarian and shops at Capriotti’s for options like the plant-based cole turkey sandwich. We’ve faced ongoing order accuracy issues. For instance, selecting “no mayo” in the app also removes coleslaw, even though that is a different option in the app. You have to add a note like “Please include slaw, just no additional mayo,” if you want cole slaw in a plant based COLE turkey sandwich.
On 3/25/25 we ordered the plant-based cole turkey sandwich with those instructions. At home, my wife bit into it, cutting her mouth on a turkey bone and discovering turkey meat inside. This was distressing—physically, as she dealt with a bleeding mouth, and emotionally, given her strict vegetarianism.
I texted the owner directly as I had a previous business contact with him. His response was troubling: he confirmed the error after reviewing video footage, admitted his team provided the wrong sandwich, and said he felt “horrible” and “sick.” He offered no apology, no concern for my wife’s well-being, and no effort to replace or refund our order.
I have never experienced a place give you something you didn't order, admit they were wrong (with video evidence) and not apologize at the least. Typically you get "I'm sorry, how can we make this right?" Not here.
I gave the owner a week and then contacted Capriotti's Headquarters via email. I immediately got a response "we got your message and will try to get back within 2 days." That has been a week now. No word since. Apparently HDQ isn't concerned either.
Bottomline, when they make the food correctly, the food is good. BEFORE leaving the store, I would suggest thoroughly checking your food to make sure it is what you ordered and for any non food items like bones. I can only speak from my experience, but it seems like nothing will happen, regardless whose fault, once you are...
Read moreCapriotti’s! Home of the Seymour Sandwich. Where ya C More Bread Than Meat! I had two minis delivered while away visiting relatives. I purchased a mini turkey and a mini roast beef hoagie. As soon as the driver handed me the bag, the weight of it, began to tell the story. They were very light. The meat to bread or bread to meat ratio was the worst I’ve seen and trust me, I’ve seen bad. Especially in Reading, Pa, but these hoagies were horrible. I provided videos. Please check them out. These sandwiches had too much veggies on them and not enough meat and every bite was a mouthful of veggies. I should’ve just ordered a salad and ate a slice of bread with it. So If you’re tired of the place up the street. Where they give you more bread than they give ya meat. Head on over to Brunish’s in Pottstown, Pa for a better hoagie. Read moreTook my child here on Saturday (09/14). I ordered the cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions, they had a meatball sandwich and we shared the steak topped fries. The sandwiches were good, not great but good. There was a blandness about the cheesesteak that I just couldn’t shake. The kiddo said the meatball sandwich was “ok but it’s really bland”. With salt and pepper not being available the sandwiches stayed flavorless. The fries were good. They use really thin steak cut fries which I really liked. They were crispy and stayed crispy. The issue with them is that they lacked salt/pepper as did the cheesesteak on top, and the peppers in it tasted like sweet peppers and since I’m not a fan of sweet peppers I would have preferred them to not be in there. The staff were friendly and the service was overall quick. I just wish there had been more flavor/seasoning...
