We are members at WVW and love their wine but... the last visit we had a $147 wine credit and we were over charged for our wine. We should not have been charged... at all. Our server (both of them) even confirmed that we wouldn't be. I called the Vancouver tasting room and spoke with the Manager, Anna, several times about this matter. she was suppose to call me back last Monday. I never heard back from her. Then I called on Thursday and was told she was in a meeting and they would give her the message to call me back. I never heard from her.
At this point Willamette owes us a credit back of $45.90. We received the credit of $38.72, which wasn't right in the first place (I didn't notice until later that she charged us for the wrong wine.)
There were so many things that went wrong with this whole transaction. I showed the server my email with the correct credit we had which was $147,00 they confirmed said there had been some issues with the June credit showing on members accounts. Then she rang us up for the wrong wine! so we were charged $84.62 on our debit card. We did not get the Chardonnay. We purchased 2 bottles of the Pinot Blanc and the White Pinot Noir, which was suppose to come to $137.00. She even showed us on her check out pad and it was correct! then to find out it is totally wrong. We even tipped her $20 bucks cash because we thought she was amazing and capable of turning around our faith in Willamette Valley's hiring and their customer service at the Vancouver Tasting Room. Epic fail on our part to trust that this could happen because it obviously hasn't.
This is now our 3RD VISIT to this tasting room where we have had horrible service. My husband and I have had many conversations, most while drinking their wine on whether or not to cancel it... We just wont be visiting the WV establishment any more. We will strictly go in get our wine and leave. Your staff can't seem to get it together and now your Manager can't respond in a timely fashion, which just shows me that she doesn't care about your members, it's really sad and disheartening cuz your wine is really good and we are a lot of fun and like to support local.
At this point, with Anna not even calling me back and ghosting me, I guess I will just give up on getting the proper credit back. Thanks again Willamette Valley. Thanks for nothing. We will support the other wineries on...
Read moreFurther update: We just had a fabulous evening at WVV Vancouver! Anna greeted us and set us up at a lovely table. She put us in the knowledgeable hands of Susie, who orchestrated one of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had. The food was so good, and her knowledge of the wines and all of their nuances was really impressive. We felt like we were guests in her house and she was looking for ways to treat each of our palates. This evening met all of our expectations of a fabulous experience at a WVV tasting room/restaurant. I think we'll be welcoming our guests as new owners soon. Thank you!
Update: Thank you, Anna, for responding to my review. I appreciate your acknowledgement and concern, as General Manager, of the issues I wrote about, and your invitation to join you again for a better experience. I felt the usual care and diligence of WVV that we've come to look forward to as owners. We will come again soon. Debbie W.
Original review: We were looking forward to visiting WVV on the Vancouver waterfront after having amazing experiences at the main Winery, Lake Oswego and Domaine Willamette. But it just didn't end up that way. First, I called to say we would be 10 minutes late for our reservation and I was instantly put on hold and was still on hold when we walked in the door of the restaurant. When I commented to the hostess (?) she just said, "Oh yeah. We're pretty busy." My call was still blinking on her desk phone. The service was ok, the server was pleasant but not particularly attentive. No one checked to see if we were nembers or owners so we had to have our check redone to correct the charges. (We even had to get the attention of another server to get some salt.) The menu itself was kind of strange, with random selections. And things were brought in odd order, main dishes before things listed as "starters." And, unfortunately, the flavor of the food was not up to the standards of the other three locations. The view is great, but, unless you sit outside, it's really loud in the inside room. Even the decor doesn't live up to the other locations. It has a cafeteria vibe in the main dining area. And finally, not a big deal, but the parking there is awful. At this point, I couldn't...
Read moreOur recent visit to Willamette Valley Vineyards was more than just a wine tasting; it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped into the tasting room, we were greeted by Sean, whose warmth and genuine enthusiasm instantly made us feel welcome.
Sean's knowledge of the wines was truly impressive. He expertly guided us through each tasting, explaining the unique characteristics and nuances of each varietal. He was even able to recommend wines that perfectly matched our individual preferences, showcasing his exceptional understanding of both the wines and his guests.
But what truly elevates Sean's service beyond the ordinary is his ability to connect with people on a deeper level. He made us feel like valued guests, taking the time to chat with us and share his passion for wine. Throughout the tasting, he laughed with us, shared stories, and truly made us feel like part of the family. This level of personalized attention is rare and goes a long way in creating a truly memorable experience.
Speaking of memorable, let's talk about the food! The truffle fries were an absolute must-have. Perfectly crispy and golden brown, they were infused with the rich, earthy aroma of truffle oil. The combination was divine! And to top it all off, we couldn't resist the chocolate torte. This decadent dessert was pure perfection – rich, dark chocolate ganache filling a moist, crumbly cake base. It was the perfect finishing touch to a delightful afternoon.
While I wouldn't normally consider myself a champagne drinker, the brut rose was simply too good to pass up. Sean's recommendation was spot-on – the brut rose was light, crisp, and bursting with flavor. It was the perfect accompaniment to the food and left me wanting more.
If you're looking for a truly exceptional wine tasting experience, look no further. Sean's unparalleled knowledge, genuine hospitality, and the delicious food and wine will have you raving about your experience long...
