Let me start by saying the cakes are great. However, I will probably not get another one. I purchased one last Wednesday for a friend, and we were going to eat it on Thursday. When I cut into mine, and was about to take a bite, I noticed a piece of plastic wedged between the icing and the cake. I figured it was from the pipping bag, or the cellophane that the cake was in on pick up. No biggie. Later in the day, I went for another piece. SAME THING. OK, this isn't a coincidence. I mentioned it to some other people in the office, and our corporate counsel said "I had it too! But I figured it was just plastic wrapping from the fork I used!". So I called and spoke with the store owner. She asked that I bring the plastic in for her to see. I understand 100% that we live in a world where people make things up. But her sorry excuse for an apology, and the tone she used, made me think that that's exactly what she thought was happening because "This has never happened. Ever." So that evening, I drove over to the shop with a cup with my little plastic pieces in it. Dorothy was not there, but the clerk said to write down my info and Dorothy would call me the next day (Friday). Friday came and went with no call. As did Saturday, and Sunday. I finally called on Monday and she said that she saw the plastic, and she's not sure what it was. But again, it has never, EVER happened. And then we proceeded with the MOST AWKWARD conversation I've ever had with a business owner. Instead of apologizing PROFUSELY (All I got was "Well I said I was sorry" and offering to make things better (i.e. a new cake, or even a mini.... SOMETHING), she asked me what I wanted. At that point, if I have to tell you how to make your customer happy, after I bring you plastic fished out of your cake, all the way across town, for you to tell me what it is... I don't even care to eat your cakes anymore. There's other bakeries, and other businesses with better consumer service. The frosting will be missed, but hey, there's another...
Read moreHi. I order 12 mini-bundts for Mother's Day and asked specifically that 4 of the bundts (1 of each flavor) not have any icing on the cake. I included this on my online order that I submitted. Additionally, we received a coupon that said "1 Free Bundts with the purchase of 2". I advised this in our online order and requested a Chocolate Chip. My husband arrived promptly at our designated time. We were met with a several employees not wearing the required masks when it is a requirement in the Foodservice Industry. Additionally, our order of 12 included icing so our request was not followed. Lastly, the employee advised that the coupon was only for dine-in (when the restaurant is now required to be closed) but this time they would allow it. It felt like a backhanded comment. Nowhere on their website did we see coupons were not part of the "drive by". Overall the cakes continue to be great but the customer service and care was...
Read moreAttention: beware when ordering online for a surprise delivery. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Both owner and 2 employees were resolute in not refunding a mere $15 delivery fee for a SURPRISE birthday delivery where no one was home (I was not alerted they were going to come). I was willing to come get it if the delivery fee was reversed or they could redeliver the next day at any time they chose. No nuanced response to customer's situation. Incapable of even attempting to make it right. I was shocked at the level of ineptitude. I explained that for only $15 they were saying they were not willing to make it right and forever lose my continued business. All 3 were going "on script" with responses instead of having a conversation. Sadly, it's happening all too often in customer service. Please consider taking your business elsewhere. I gave them every opportunity to reverse the situation, and they just doubled down....
