Needs a lesson in customer care
I dropped my watch and cracked the crystal. I dropped it off at Watch Dr and it was replaced in a little over one week. The evening I got it back I noticed the alarm would not set. I went back to the shop the next morning and explained the situation to the owner. He got rather argumentative that he did nothing to the alarm, only replaced the crystal, and also indicated that it was a disposable timepiece and may not be fixed. I asked him to open it up and look to see if the alarm actuator was actually in contact with the alarm setting apparatus. I also indicated that I couldn’t open it up to do this as I do not have a case wrench. He told me I shouldn’t do that and to leave it to an expert.
He opened the watch and found that the battery was dead. In the meantime asked me that if the windshield in my car broke and I brought it to the shop and the car wouldn’t start the next morning would I blame him. Two different things, in his words. Well, if you need to open the hood to replace the windshield, maybe I would see a correlation.
I asked him to see my side of the situation, I break the crystal, get the watch back and now alarm wont set/battery dead. Seems like a rather odd chain of events to me, “happens all the time” he said. He then charged me $10 for a new battery.
I have spent my last dollar at the watch dr. I will find...
Read moreThis is the only place I’ll trust to repair my watches from now on. I’ve had some bad experiences with watch repair back home in Wisconsin. I was in Chicago for the weekend and thought I’d try to find someone more qualified to get my watches going. Luckily I found the Watch Doctor here on Google and decided to see what he could do. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and quickly sorted the battery replacement of two watches.
The third watch I brought was very worse for the wear. It was not working, the crystal had broken, and all three hands were bent. I wasn’t sure if anything could be done, but feared I would be leaving it with him for a few weeks to get sorted. Instead, he worked on it while I waited and had it all in perfect working order within about half an hour.
In short, his expertise and skills are second to none. His pricing was more than fair. I was incredibly pleased with his quick turn around. In the future, if I need anything from a battery to a full overhaul, this is the place...
Read moreBrought my husband's watch for repair. Told them the watch runs slow and need repair. Then I was told I should hear from them in a few days. A week passed, then two weeks passed. No one called me. I had to go there three times and finally caught the person who does the repair. He told me he would have to reconstruct every thing and cost me $350. I waited 1 month and got the watch. My husband tested it and it still runs slow. I took the watch back, the repair man insists that it runs fine on his machine. There's nothing else he can do. As a customer, I don't care how it runs on your machine, I care how it runs when we wear it. So the fact is that the watch is not fixed. It still have the same problem as before. I don't know if he really did anything since he never identified...
