Barro's Pizza — Restaurant in Verrado

Only thing going good for this location is it’s pizza, I was super excited when I found out the my were putting in a location in verrado, but after have bad experience twice now I’m very disappointed! They need to work on a better trained staff and organization, you have young kids running around like a lost puppy! First time I order online pick up and was quoted 30 mins I get there 30 minutes later then wait in line for another 10 mins and when I get up there told oh well let me check on it, the pushed me to the side and start taking more orders, with out even checking on my order finally 45 more minutes go by and now I’m frustrated so I stop an employee and let them know I had an online order that was supposed to be done an hour and 15 mins ago, so they go and check and sure enough if was ready and by this time my wings are cold because they had them sitting off on a regular shelf, no apologies or nothing, so I tried again today trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt since it is née and I know there will always be some hiccups, but only to be disappointed again order online for delivery quotes 45 mins an hour goes by no pizza, so I call the store to check on the order only to be told the time quoted online isn’t correct and that it will be another 30-45 mins crazy! You guys need work on your online portal if that’s trues it creates a bad experience, I’m sure if things keep going this way the location wont last for Lang, bad staffing and management can bring a place down, same situation with the native New Yorker that was in buckeye and it closed a few years later, I hope not for you guys, always have been my favorite pizza joint, but this location heavily disappoints. I would recommend management from the Goodyear location go over there to help to get things in order, always a great experience at the Goodyear location I guess I’ll stick...

I want to like it, I really do. My wife loves the pizza. I'm not a big pizza fan so I tend to go with the other menu items. The pizzas usually come out pretty good. It's the other items that get a little weird. Maybe that's my fault for ordering non-pizza things at a pizza place. Tonight, we ordered a personal pizza and a cold club sandwich. The sandwich came out in about 5 minutes. It didn't look super great. It looked like it was thrown together very hastily. There was very little meat on it and very little cheese. LOTS of shredded lettuce! I poked around a little and there wasn't a speck of any kind of condiment on it. It was totally dry. Bread, a few slices of deli meat, lettuce, tomatoes and some cheese. I went to the counter to ask for some mayo and mustard but I couldn't get anybody to acknowledge me I think I was lost in a crowd of waiting Door Dash people. After a while, I went back to the table to sit down. My wife's food hadn't been brought out yet so I thought I would just ask the server for the condiments. My sandwich came out in about 5 minutes but my wife's pizza took about 15 minutes I can understand that cold sandwiches are quicker to make than pizzas but it would have been nice to get the food at the same time. Hello all. I have been reading others reviews and appears there is more concern about cleanliness and friendliest more than the reason we chose a pizza place... "Pizza!!" Well, perhaps it's the area (Residents). Moving on, it appears that Barros has now fallen victim to a Double Broiler pizza oven instead of a traditional baking oven out of convenience and less labor. 😢 My pizza was disappointing. Very over broiled on top and oily on the bottom. They must have greased the pan while going through the conveyor. No need for a pan or screen with traditional pizza baking. As for their wings..Top notch like always! I still will support my local establishment (For the wings only). As for the pricing..way over done! $44 for a 14 in pizza with 24 wings an 1 soft drink? Yes, everything has increased in pricing. Unfortunately my salary has not. But this is everywhere. So, in conclusion the next time I want to spend $44 for a party of 2, I will most likely head to Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse for about the same pricing. As for pizza, many options if willing to drive. There is always traditional Chicago style for about the same pricing with atmosphere instead of Chicago Sports...
