Swapna Indian Cuisine is clean, comfortable and the food is delicious! We've been dining at Swapna for the past several years and the food is always consistent. The restaurant is enhancing the dining experience even further! (You'll notice more ambience improvements during the summer.) Srinivas, the new owner and General Manager, is on top of his game. His passion for excellence really shines through. The lunch buffet is the best value in the area (as a matter of fact, the price can't be beat!) There are many choices on the buffet from apps to desserts, pile on as much as you can eat. My good friend is from Punjab and always helps me order. Some of my favorites are garlic Naan (ask for extra garlic!) Palak Paneer (Spinach and cheese) always delights with just the right spice. Sometimes we leave the cheese off and substitute garbanzo beans. Fantastic! Swapna Indian Cuisine will prepare any dish to your liking. A lot of spice? Just ask.
On this day, we parked at Swapna, grabbed a lunch buffet and then strolled over to the Braves stadium for an afternoon game!
Swapna Indian Cuisine has our vote for consistency and taste, lowest buffet price for lunch in Cobb and a staff that wants to exceed your expectations. Worth the trip.
(A note on reviews online: We read a review about traffic when there is a Braves game in town. There's traffic all over the city. We also read a review and the reviewer hated every place they went! You can't please everyone all the time. Read through the lines and know that some reviewers go into a restaurant ready for a bad experience. We've even witnessed reviewers ask for money or they'll leave a...
Read moreTerrible Service, Food was good. I asked for refills. Was told to " hold on a minute sir" . Asked for Fresh naan. the waitress looked at me and said, " is the naan on the bar not fresh? I said no its not because it was the last of the fresh batch and I like my naan fresh like the other 99% of others do. Waited till i had already ate 2 full plates of food. While my waitress hung out up front with the manager and chit chatted I asked another waiter to get us some naan, he says hold on again and after about 10 minutes goes by , the guy filling the buffet finally puts some fresh naan on the bar. He says ' sir you can go get it yourself '. At this point, I lost my appetite and went to talk to the manager. Who basically told me in the face, Sir we dont do anything special for anyone. If you want something from the buffet you go get it yourself." Tha t its fine , but If i am relying on my tips as a waiter, I will go and do what it takes for my table to make them happy no matter what. If it requires me to grab a plate and put 3 pieces of fresh naan on it and bring it by you better believe i will do it bc my tip relies on it and thats just a small piece of being proactive for you guest and anticipating your guests needs. Telling your guest to go get it yourself is prob not thei best choice of words to say to someone that was hungry , mouth burning from spices and no drink refills , and the number 1 Indian item you can have with your meal' Naan' not being available until 20 minutes later. I have been here before and the service nor manager was never this bad. Its a shame because the food is...
Read moreUnder the new management, this restaurant has improved greatly, and we will be back a lot more frequently than before. The restaurant has been taken over by the previous owner's brother in-law, and our experience there today was great!
Even though we arrived fairly late in their lunch buffet offering (2:15 on a Sunday, with a last seating of 2:45), they were quick to ensure us that the buffet items were refilled all the way to closing.
The food on the buffet was all great in flavor, well made, and fresh. There were a great mix of South and North Indian offerings, as well as a couple of Indo-Chinese offerings. We particularly enjoyed the chicken and lamb curries, and the butter chicken, as well as the fresh and hot south Indian offerings of dosa, and a couple kinds of vada. The desserts were also quite good.
The buffet is a good value for $18.99 per person. The decor in the restaurant has been re-done, and it is a bright and attractive place for a weekend lunch. The staff were very attentive and nice, which is refreshing for a lunch buffet place.
The owner told us that they will soon offer even more items on their buffet, and plan to post their daily offerings on their facebook and instagram pages.
If you've been to this restaurant in the past, I would suggest visiting again to experience their new ownership. If you've never been, its definitely the best Indian option in the Cobb county area. We look forward to visiting again for their lunch buffet and for their dinner...
