Very delicious cuisine. I always order Kung Pao Chicken and request (White meat) instead of normal dark meat, it is made with. The waitress was very kind told me it was no problem because she remembered me from the previous time ordering it the same way. Upon waiting on our food, it finally came to the table. Judy is present and I was very impressed but rather than being polite and saying hello to us; she says to me, you ordered Kung Pao Chicken with white meat, it’s normally made with dark meat and instructed me not to order it that way again. She actually raised her voice while speaking to me and it made me feel she was making a spectacle out of me. I was taken back because I love her food and atmosphere. I said to her no worries, I will not be returning to your establishment ever again. She says to me, oh it’s not an issue this time, I can do it you for just this one time. I replied that I don’t need you to do anything for me this one time or any other time; I will not be coming back. I then gave her my plate and said take it off my bill and you can throw it in the trash. Judy is a restaurateur and she should have the wherewithal to be professional and understanding to the fact that not everyone likes dark meat; I did not mind paying extra, if need be. I enjoy food, no matter the price. But her off putting attitude and unpleasant demeanor; I don’t recommend anyone eat here. There are other Sichuan restaurants to go too that has friendly and pleasant owners. Judy honestly should not own any business simply because she lacks integrity and respect for people that eat at her restaurant. I get that we all have a bad day but that was not my first time ordering that meal or even coming there; Judy could have handled that a totally entirely different way. First impression of her, was utterly disgusting and...
Read moreMe and my husband typically eat at the Chesapeake location; however, they are closed on Wednesday so we decided to check this location out. And I will say, it did not disappoint! Kim was our waitress and she was super sweet. She overheard my husband offer me his napkin and 30 seconds later she gave me a handful of them. I was pleasantly surprised at her attention to detail. We honestly were a little skeptical when we saw some of the reviews on the customer service, (not saying those ppls experiences weren’t valid) but, I can say every person we encountered were super sweet and more then willing to help us. So, if they did have problems in the past, I can say I salute them for prioritising their customer service. They truly were wonderful, and we had a toddler in toe; so, considering that, they were more than saints! They even interacted with her and kept her smiling the whole time. Which isn’t always common in restaurants. So, that in itself shows just how amazing they were. So, if you’re hesitant to go here, don’t be. The food was delicious, flavours were spot on and authentic. I had the dry braised lamb which is mouth watering, my husband had the beef nooodle soup, and those beef chunks were so perfectly cooked that they literally started falling apart. I snagged a bite of it and it was delicious! We also ordered the scallion pancakes which were on point 👌
Really, the only critique I would give, which is very small, is that the potatoes in my dish were a little overcooked, but aside from that this dish was a 10 out of 10. (And honestly is my favourite dish).
Thank you all at Judy’s, we loved being served by you and look forward to eating here again whenever we come to VA beach for a...
Read moreI visited Judy's with two friends tonight. It was our first time, but knowing the reviews we were excited for the experience. We arrived a little before 6. There was a good crowd of people seated but it was definitely not at capacity. We had a reservation and were seated right away. This is when the evening started to go south. It took roughly ten minutes for them to ask us what we wanted to drink and another ten for them to take our order. After a while one of the waitresses comes by and delivers an entree to one of my friends. It came with rice, but rice was not put on the table. We also found it odd that all three of our entrees were not delivered at the same time, but we waited patiently to see if the rest of the meals showed up. At least 15 min went by and nothing. The waitress didn't even bother to fill our water glasses. One of my friends called a waitress over to the table. It wasn't until that exchange that the rest of the meal suddenly showed up. One of the entrees was completely incorrect and mine was missing requested additions. The food also had little flavor. We eventually had to ask a waitress for the check, since it was very apparent our table was being completely ignored. It took at least 15 minutes to get the bill, pay, and leave, because the wifi was down. At least they gave us fortune cookies.
After this experience, I'm completely confused as to why the restaurant is so highly rated. I will not be going back nor will this place be...
