We arrived around 540 and we were sat right away (it's Sunday evening). After we sat a young lady approached and said she would be with us in just a minute. As she walked away her coworker asked her if she was ok with having us in her section and her reply was "yes it's fine, I don't want any waiting". Having worked as a server I knew she meant she wanted to keep steady and have no down time because she was hoping to earn more tips, which is fine, some servers are great at this. However this Young lady was WAY out of her element. It took nearly 15 minutes for her to come back to us. We had actually asked another server to take over because we hadn't even had a drink order taken or anything. But of course she jumped right in as soon as she saw another server about to take her table. She then proceeded to basically sit in the booth and asked for our order. While she wasn't rude, she definitely was lacking in customer service. She took our order and finally brought our drinks which she had clutched against her chest, instead of holding in her hands. Then she finally brought out the rolls. A bit later she brought out our ceasar salads but mine did not have any Croutons. She aaid she forgot them, but managed to remember to out them on 1? She said she was going to get them. She ended up bringing us our food and still hadn't brought my croutons. At that point I wasn't going to eat the salad while my food got cold, so in a big mistake I told her I didn't want the salad and they removed it from our bill. Well, I wish I had kept the salad. The grilled meatloaf I ordered was horrible (I've had it before and it's always been good). I didn't eat it, nor the mac n cheese which was mushy and bland. My husbands steak was over salted and he didn't even eat half, which is something I've never seen him do. When our server finally came by and saw our full almost uneaten plates, didnt even bother to ask if there was an issue. We didnt expect anything for free, but would have been nice for her to at least ask. Basically we paid $51 for 1 ceasar salad and 4 dinner rolls because that's really all we ate. And even though we left maybe a $4 tip, we wanted to leave nothing based on the service alone. The girl really hurt herself because we ALWAYS tip 25% or more for good service. But tonight the service was horrible and the food was not worth what we paid. Stuff costs way too much to walk away hungry. So...
Read moreThe last time I lived here, about 20 years ago, Logan’s was pretty good. Place was usually pretty busy on a Saturday. Then it closed, reopening last year. We went today, and it was truly a bad experience. Our waitress was nice. In fact she’s the only reason this doesn’t get a 1-star review. The rolls were lukewarm, and the plates we were given were dirty; they had specks of something on them, and one had a smear of maybe butter on the side of it. We ordered drinks, and I was told they had no ice-tea, they were out of it… out of ice-tea at a steakhouse?!?!. So we ordered water. The water had a strange taste to it. Not sure if the water is straight from the tap, or the ice machine needed cleaning, but it was not good. My wife ordered the Logan steak, I ordered their steak sandwich, and our daughter ordered a chicken sandwich. It took about 40 minutes to get the sandwiches, and another 20 minutes for the steak. Oh, and the place was dead, maybe six tables were occupied total. The fries weren’t even hot, let alone fresh. They were hard, desiccated pieces of disappointment, obviously cooked earlier in the day and left under a heat lamp for some time. My wife’s steak, that she waited for an hour for, looked good. Then she cut into it. It was supposed to be cooked medium, but it was medium-well/well-done. The meat was grey and dry. I tried a piece, and it’s obvious that the steak was frozen before hand. It was just bad. And the waitress knew it would be bad as she handed a bottle of A-1 to us with the steak. The broccoli was horrendous, it was also frozen stuff that had not been cooked well and had a strange aftertaste, as though it were old. Perhaps freezer burned?
It’s obvious there is zero to little management going on. How do you not serve the table together? The waitress said it was so long for the steak, but given the size of the thing it shouldn’t have come out later than the other dishes unless it was pulled from a deep freezer.
Overall it was just plain bad. Maybe my memory painted this place to be better than it was, or maybe it’s just poor management. But I would steer well clear. It’s...
Read moreWent to Logan's last night with my wife and daughter.
The Good: Waiter, Ryan, was friendly and attentive. Salads were great. Spinach and artichoke dip was good, just need more chips. Appetizer and salads came out promptly as well as the drinks. Restaurant was clean and inviting.
The Bad: Main courses were horrible. Wife's chicken sandwich tasted bad, it was room temperature, plus they used what looked like kraft cheese slices instead of good deli cheddar or sliced cheese. My daughter's chicken tenders were overcooked or fried, some were burnt, the meat was dry, and yet they were all room temperature to cold. Her fries were room temperature as well. My steak was under cooked, more rare than mid rare, but that didn't bother me. The fact that it came out room temperature was disappointing. Bake potato was under cooked as well. Parts of the baked potato were crispy like an apple and tasted raw. We ate our meals and didn't complain, as it took a long time for the entrées to get to us and we were starving at that point.
The Ugly: Not the restaurant's fault, but there was a large table with about 10 men at it. They were celebrating someone's birthday, as the waitress announced to the restaurant, but the men were loud and vulgar. Cursing loud enough for us to hear 3-4 tables away. My disappointment with this is that the staff did nothing to deter this behavior at what I thought was a family restaurant. Lastly, paying that much for a disappointing meal kind of disheartening.
We still made sure to tip our waiter +20% as he was nice and attentive. In hindsight I wish we had expressed our concerns, but it was really late at that point and we just wanted to eat and get home. Not saying we won't go back, but we are going to give the restaurant and kitchen staff time to improve, as they just reopened after COVID. So we won't be back...
