I adore this place, and the people are what make it. No wait, the coffee. No wait, the space. No wait… ok ok, it’s all spectacular. Truly, though, I’m a picky person when it comes to coffee, and everyone here knows their stuff. Really excellent espresso on the regular for reasonable prices. This is not cheap Starbucks coffee, so it’s not priced that way. For example, you’ll pay something like $4 for an espresso, but that spro is going to be worth about $9. It’s carefully selected and masterfully prepared. It can be hard to find coffee this good in Seattle.
Another admirable thing about Carte is its origins. Josh and crew have spent years thoughtfully making connections and taking feedback from their community. They know almost everyone who comes in because they actually care about everyone that comes in. One time I was waiting for my order and I noticed a barista there raiding their own tip jar to pay for a coffee for a customer who was down and out, stuck on the street. They honestly do care. It’s so wholesome.
If you care about your coffee experience at all I highly recommend frequenting Carte. It’s an experience worth...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite coffee shops. Every coffee drink they make is of excellent quality and the owners emphasize growing the skills of their employees. Everyone who works there seems to like each other and it's a fantastically friendly place to visit - they remembered my name after just a couple visits.
The coffee itself is always excellent and the owners put a lot of care into where they source their coffee from. They offer a variety of non-dairy milks without an upcharge, which is nice. And they also have reasonably priced drip coffee with free refills, which is the hallmark of a good coffee shop.
As far as ambience, the front seating area is light and airy, and their seating up a small staircase in the back is cozy and perfect for hunkering down to work on studying or have a chat with another friend.
Basically... Visit this place. It's excellent quality and a great place without the pretentious feeling you get from...
Read moreIt can be tough to find a great latté in smaller towns. Not sure why, but I suppose ideals are different. Carte Coffee in a small-ish town, far exceeds any expectations. Absolutely phenomenal. The crew is SO kind. Josh, I presume the owner/manager, was working on a new product with fellow crew members and they all had equal input to the product. As well, they all clearly had a knowledge of ratios and the science behind coffee. Very rare to find.
The layout. The lighting. The bathroom lighting.
A wonderful space. Thank you all for caring. Coffee and experience. On point. 😁
I didn’t order any food, but overheard the cookies are homemade from a...
