Definitely one of the best places down in the Walla Walla area. I will get to why I gave a 4 instead of a 5 shortly. Things you need to know is that the flavors are on point! Absolutely fantastic contrast and an excellent play on traditional Italian twisted with a modern pop. We had the ahi, cauliflower, brussel sprout salad, grilled peach caprese, tenderloin, gamberti, lamb shank and Bolognese. Not a single item was bad, not a single item lacked flavor and as a chef I was impressed with every dish that came out. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to the area. Now for the downfalls we have a couple areas that need some serious attention. The wine menu and cocktail menu is amazing, however the beer menu has 4 beers and one of them is Coors light, not the best of variety. There are no high chairs or any other kid friendly neccesities at this restaurant which lowers the rating of kid friendly for us. We had to bring our own booster seat. The tenderloin as good as it was seemed to be a different size in every one we saw leave the kitchen. The last thing is that when we asked about menu items the explanations were relative to portion size or design. However no one was really able to talk to the flavors or romance the food. Something needed in order for you to understand what you are getting. All in all, outstanding and...
Read moreWe had dinner reservations for a bachelorette dinner and it was not at all what I expected. We chose this restaurant for the fairly priced menu, and the atmosphere (sophisticated, chic, etc). Unfortunately, the service we experienced really ruined everything for us. Our reservations were at 7 so it was not busy at this time, and the best service we had was the host that sat us at our table… from there it was all downhill. We waited an hour for our food, and during this time we were almost accidentally handed two different dishes for other tables. Our waiter never checked in on us to give us any updates. Finally, after waiting for over an hour, the bride to be got up to see what was going on. Two of the girls finally got their dishes, but the rest of us were still waiting (there were 5 of us total). After waiting another 30 minutes, the rest of the meals came out. I suggested that they at least comp the brides meal to make it right and instead they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine which the waiter said retails for $200 (we looked it up and it’s a $40 bottle of wine). The waiter was speaking very fast and seemed off, and when he picked up one of our finished wine classes he sniffed it. The whole experience was very bizarre and was handled very poorly, so for this reason alone I would not recommend...
Read moreWe had a 6:30 reservation on a Tuesday night, and arrived a few minutes early. No one was yet seated outside and there were several empty tables. We were seated promptly, and there we sat. After 15 minutes we had been served bread and water but no waiter appeared. We asked the host where our waiter was and were told he was working the bar, which was in plain view of our table. We waited another couple of minutes and told the host we were leaving if we were expected to wait much longer for a waiter. At which point he spoke with the bartender, who then presented himself, apologized and took both our drink and dinner oreder and then...went back to working the bar! We could see him busy helping everyone but us, but and waited an additional ten minutes with no sign we were about to get even our drinks. The diners next to us said service had been painfully, painfully slow. At that point, now 30 minutes at our table without even a drink, I went up to the bar and told the bartender that we were leaving. He replied "Oh, Okay." Wow, that was dinner out on our one night in Walla Walla! Luckily we ended up at Olives, seatedoutdoors at a banquette, had wine and beer within 5 minutes and very nice casual food within 15. We were so happy to have escaped a two hour ordeal at...
