Smiley Nail Spa — Local services in Walnut Creek

I went here months ago, I was accompanying my husband on his work trip and I wanted to kill time, I had a great panini at this little cafe close by and decided I’ll get my nails filled and a pedicure to treat myself, I didn’t have an appointment because I was here for the day, and just needed to do a walk in, it was raining pretty hard out, the nail salon only had 1 other person in their pedicure chair and no other customers, they sat me down and started my pedicure that lady was older and was kind, another younger girl started on my acrylic fill, no special design, nothing extra, she seemed annoyed at having to do my nails, she was speaking to the other lady in her language, fairly animated which doesn’t bother me at all, I had 1 head phone in and I was trying to to nap during this service, the younger nail techs burned my finger with her drill, I winced and told her that hurt, she apologized, and continued on, this happened at least 5 or so more times, I seriously lost count, looking back I wish I would’ve just stopped her completely and had the other girl finish my pedicure. I didn’t, I suffered through it, I didn’t want to be an issue, it sat with me for the remainder of the day, I wasn’t rude or loud or anything that would deserve this treatment, no one does, I can remember her rolling her eyes at me a couple of times after I told her “ouch that burns” over and over. I headed over to a wonderful massage place after that treated me very well and tried to forget about how that lady at Smiley nail hurt me and made me feel, I tipped both the ladies $10 dollars each to which I regret doing, but I usually tip my nail techs well. I’m writing this today because that instance in my life has bothered me and I felt I should let them or someone looking to go to a new place maybe go somewhere else, or hopefully this girl will not do things like this to people, looking back it is very obvious she didn’t want to do my nails & I only wish I never let her continue on with me. Summary: 10/10 would recommend this nail spa. Deena and Sue took great care of me and my nails and the price was very fair.

I'm here from out of town and had called three other salons in the area who were unable to fit me; I read reviews for Smiley Nail Spa and decided to give them a call and luckily they had time to fit me in for an acrylic fill and gel polish.

The location isn't right on the street, it's tucked in the back corner of a parking lot attached to the mall the spa is in but there is a sign on the street to indicate you're in the right place! It was clean and quiet, with easy listening music in the background.

The last salon I had been to didn't do a good job on my nails and Deena noticed that right away. She took off the old acrylic and added new tips, taking extra care to protect my fragile nails underneath. I really appreciated the time she took to do a good job and left feeling great - both ladies were kind and nice and funny.

Because there salon isn't right on the street I think maybe they don't get as much business as they deserve so if you're looking to change up your spa you should give them a try!

A friend booked our appointment for 2pm and received a text reminder but when we arrived they said they didn't have us down. The tried to accommodate us and said we could come back at 330 but we were working on a time constraint. After everything they said they could accommodate us at 245. We ended up on the massage chairs (which were very nice!) For about 20 minutes before anyone started working on our pedicures so it was close to 330 anyway. And they had started and pretty much finished 2 of us but not the 3rd person in our party so we were not all done around the same time.

They did offer a discount for the booking mixup but forgot to do reduce it when we were paying and we had to remind them they had even offered it.
