Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

There’s something comforting about returning to a place where your child smiles every single time you order their favorite meal. For us, it’s the Kids Crispy Chicken Bites at The Habit. It has become our little ritual — a simple joy in the middle of a busy day.

The chicken is always flavorful and satisfying, and my son enjoys it with such delight that it makes the experience special for both of us. That said, I’ve noticed an interesting inconsistency: the portion size — especially the fries — can vary not just between locations, but even from one visit to the next at the same branch. Sometimes the fries come perfectly golden and generous, and other times they’re fewer and a bit overdone.

Still, the warm energy of the staff, the lively atmosphere, and the consistent quality of the main dish keep us coming back. It’s one of those places that feels familiar — even when the details change.

I've been coming here for well over 6 months, and I have yet to have a poor quality item from their menu. The patties are juicy and flavored amazingly. My suggestion would be either the Bacon BBQ burger, the Mushroom Swiss, or the Teriyaki Burger w/Grilled Pineapple. Those are my three favorites. I also find their chicken nuggets to be quite enjoyable as well. Fries are done perfectly and salted good.

You can taste the fresh ingredients when you bite into the burger, and unlike other fast food joints attempting to do good burgers, this place does them to perfection in my opinion, especially at these prices too.

They got palm trees and sunset portraits everywhere but this has got to be the most miserable Habit location I've ever been too, it's the like the workers get mad that you come in to order food. The guy who took my order named Julio was rude from the beginning. I asked for cheese on my fries which I always get at every Habit location including this one but Julio said that he couldn't do it, how hard is it to put a slice of cheese on fries? Did Habit have a national board meeting and announced that no cheese on the fries are allowed? The I went back to ask for ranch and gave me attitude for asking for ranch, like the ranch is gonna come out of their paycheck. District needs to have a visit at this location because it's is not up to Walnut Creek's standard and I'm not even from the city. Joke of a staff at...
