I had the worst experience with this business. My dad reserved their party hall about 4 weeks ahead of my party. When he booked, he was told the hall would be open all day and that we can stop in whenever before the party to set up as needed the day of. A week before my party, my decorator calls them to find out what time she can go to start setting up. She was told then that there was another party booked at their party hall up until an HOUR before my party started. After my decorator told me, my Dad called the person he reserved the hall through and was once again told that there was no other party booked and we were good to start setting up any time that day. I ended up calling the restaurant myself and was then told by the manager that there was in fact another party booked that day. My Dad has reserved the hall through the owner and the owner had no idea about the other party, which meant there was no communication between the owner and managers about who's booking what parties. I was later told that this apparently happens a lot with this place of business and that I shouldn't throw parties there. After this, the owner told us not to worry and that he would have the hall available for us to set up the day of my party and that he will take care of the other party. During that week, we went in and no one was available to talk. We called and no one answered. Finally, the day before my party, I went in and the way we were spoken to was extremely unprofessional and rude. The worker refused to acknowledge that they made a mistake and was instead telling me that my decorator would have more than enough time to set up in an hour. He went as far as to look at my decoration inspo pictures and said that it was too easy and even he could do it in under an hour. Then, he wanted to tell me that no guests would even show up on time so I shouldn't worry. I had to walk out at this point because if I didn't I would have argued with the man and I didn''t want to do that out of respect. I ended up finding a MUCH better restaurant that was willing to host my party last minute and the customer service was amazing. I will never ever recommend booking Royal Bengal for a party to anyone. If you're looking for a small venue for a small party, I would recommend Aladdin's Castle, which is where I ended up having my party. The restaurant decor was updated and modern and they were kind to my vendors and allowed them to set up with no rush or problems. Royal Bengal's employees need to work on communicating not only amongst themselves but with their customers as well. As a bride, I was heartbroken when I suddenly didn't have a venue the day before my event and the people responsible for that had no sense of remorse. I'm glad I didn't give them business and will be sure not...
Read moreI stumbled upon this place when I was looking for a CVS. Walked in picked up a menu to see what they had to offer. On paper it looked great! Sizable variety of dishes, covering Indian Bangladeshi and Pakistani specialities. 4 stars reviews on Google, so I thought about coming back to try it. The next day I ordered a carry out order of some of their dishes to try, Lamb Vindaloo, their Chicken tandoori, etc. When asked if their dishes come with any sides of rice or bread , I was replied with "pita" bread. Okay... I was expecting "naan" or "chapati" or "rotti" but definitely not pita. Now I did pronounce the dish names correctly, didn't I?! It felt a bit condescending to assume that patrons don't know what naan bread is, but let's move on. I politely stated I didn't want any pita with my order but I would like to try their Peshawari Naan. Without finishing the sentence I was abruptly cut off with a "No! You can't change the bread" I asked to add an additional order of peshawari naan to my order, if it couldn't be changed and I got the same reply. On my third try I said "I want to pay for another order of peshawari naan" and only then, we seem to understand each other. "So you don't want the plain naan, but you want the peshawari naan?!" Ahhh there it was! It wasn't a "pita" after all. The food: The safron rice had more of a brownish kind of hue, it looked overcooked. Not appealing at all. The plain rice looked and tasted a lot better. Lamb Vindaloo looked like a few pieces of meat and half cooked potatoes with a cup of oiled poured on top. Their chicken tandoori looked fantastic! The joy was shortlived unfortunately. It was absolutely uncooked, bloody and raw 1/4 of an inch from the surface. I was the first one to put a fork in it and faced with that, I made the executive decision to throw all of it in the garbage! The other dish was "ok" till a few hours later when all of us who tried it started having upset stomachs, and no it wasn't because of the spiciness - we're all spice lovers. Something in the dish caused it.
In the end, this has to be one of those never again places and if someone says they got food poisoning there, I'm inclined to believe it. It was a disappointment because it looked so promising. If anyone from the management reads this, do yourselves a favor and simplify the menu. Instead of 40+ thrown together dishes that don't taste good and can be a health hazard, bring it down to 10 or 15 quality ones. I think you are trying to do too much. (I seriously doubt that people come to an Indian cuisine restaurant for a "Thai chicken wrap"). I don't know if It deserves 2 stars but the food was ready in 15 minutes. Maybe they should take 25 or 30 minutes and cook the...
Read moreI ate here several years ago and ordered my tandoori very spicy, food came out cold and mild as ever. Figured I'd rather not come here again. By coincidence, my sister just so happened to have her wedding banquet arranged right here just last Saturday, and although I have no complaints about the food, guest accommodations were the absolute worst I've experienced in all of my years of working under catering as well as attending friends' wedding events.
We were told everything would be set up and accounted for prior to the start of the event, yet the second I walked in I noticed the ventilation was very much dead and the staff resorted to very unprofessional excuses when confronted about it. This had to have been a known issue and nothing was done to prepare for it or even accommodate the guests for it. Staff was incompetent to the extent of being unable to sufficiently provide even cold beverages, as far as as cold water, again, knowing the ventilation was going to be an issue.
We ended up having the majority of our guests leave the ceremony before desserts were even served because of all of this. After the event, we had complained to the staff that most of our guests had not felt the hospitality and therefore the opportunity to eat, so we had requested that we receive the rest of the food we had already paid for to be packaged so we could serve our guests after the event. The staff instead insisted that the full ordered quota had actually been met by the end of the night, despite us reinforcing with pictures and detailed accounting for every family that left early/never arrived. Avoid this business...
