Visited today for the first time. Was excited to give it a try. The drive through and the park lot were full, which was a good sign for us that it must be good! My husband and I decided to go in. While we were parking I noticed several people walking out with no coffees, but I dismissed it that they must have drank them inside.
Once in, my husband commented on how nice it was inside and I agreed. There was a young girl working the drive through and another at the register. There was middle aged couple working in the kitchen area. I notice five people standing to the side as if they had already ordered and one at the register. It was obvious that they were busy, but hustling to get drinks out which I appreciated. We were prepared to be patient and wait our turn. Several more people entered in behind us and fell into line. I overheard the gentleman apologize to one of the customers who were waiting that he was reworking their order due to a grill issue. He was polite and friendly. The customer was understandable and continued to wait patiently.
It appeared that the young girl working the register/making drinks was taking a few orders, batching the cups and getting them out at once. I didn’t mind this strategy, she was doing a great job considering how busy it was and everyone was patient.
Just as my husband and I were about to approach the counter to give, the older woman came from the back, looked around and yelled out “What is this!? We are not doing this!? You start a drink, you finish a drink!?” It was obvious that this hurt the young girls feelings and likely embarrassed her in front of the now dozen customers who were watching. All us customers exchanged a few uncomfortable looks with each other. The young girl then said “I don’t understand why you are saying that”. The older woman threw up her hands and said “uh uh, bye….bye”. The young girl collected her things and walked out.
I leaned over to my husband to see if he’d like to make our exit now. He said to just wait a second, that we were next up. The older woman took ownership of the register. She looked up as if beckoning the next in line (which would be us). I took a step forward, only to receive a hand up and her look at a previously waiting customer and asked/yelled “and what were you waiting for?”. The customer tried to reply but the older lady cut her off mid sentence by saying “I can’t hear you! You have to speak up and come to the counter!”. The customer, after being spoken to like a child, approached and repeated her order. The older woman proceed to run around collecting things, slamming cabinets, and shouting to the man in the back how she had sent the young girl home.
We watched for a little bit longer. Turns out, she was no more efficient at doing the the job that the young girl she had shamed publicly. At this point, we had seen enough. We wanted coffees, not a cringe show. We walked out without coffee, just as the customers we saw when we arrived.
Maybe I got this all wrong. Maybe the young girl is a problem employee and the older woman was just having a bad day. But, as the saying goes, perception is your truth. We ended up at The Waterstreet Cafe downtown. Good drinks, nice view, and I didn’t feel like I was an inconvenience to the people I was trying to give...
Read moreWe just visited here. We ordered some donuts and muffins and had their lattes. Upon entering there was a group of people right in the front but most were just waiting for what they ordered. I came in with my husband and 2 young children. When we got to the front to order we were not greeted by either of the 2 young ladies there. I know they were overwhelmed being it was a Sunday and the other coffee shop was closed today. Waited maybe 5-10 minutes til I am assuming the manager came from back after getting caught up on orders. He welcomed with a smile on his face. Took our order and if he wasn’t sure on things he was very polite and asked. I have to say the muffins, donuts and lattes were very good. He made my service review to 4 stars otherwise I would have done 2 or 3. You should always greet a customer and welcome them especially since you are trying to build clientele. Even if they were busy should have welcome and said be with you soon give me 5 mins. That would have been fine. I was not in a hurry even though my kids kept asking what’s taking so long to get their donuts. I would go back there again as their food and atmosphere was great as well as their lattes. Just need to work on their greetings of their customer cause you never know if your going to greet a millionaire or the president in disguise. God...
Read moreFirst time visiting here this morning. Aside from its already low rating, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. And I got the absolute rudest customer service you could ever experience. I was greeted by 3 workers but non of them said “be right with you”. I was the only customer in the store at 7:52AM. I ordered a large hot coffee black, and a muffin to go. She asked if I wanted it warmed and I told her no. It’s a muffin to go. Why would I want it warmed up?!
The lady gave me my coffee in a timely manner, grabbed a blue glove to grab my muffin, grabbed a to go container and 10 seconds later asked if I wanted it for there or to go. I replied I wanted it to go.
She grabs the muffin and walks to the back kitchen. I can hear her talking with a gentleman in the back. I waited for about 2 minutes and then I can hear her in the back taking the next order via headset or the drive thru window(I’m not sure)…. It was a muffin to go!
I will...
