My first experience here and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. I usually order a plain black the first time I visit a coffee shop to taste the natural flavor of the coffee and it was a bit watery. I think the coffee itself would taste pretty good if it weren’t watered down. I asked the cashier about the origin of the coffee and she said it was from a local roaster. When I asked which one, she said she wasn’t allowed to say. I’d never heard of this. Usually baristas and cafés are proud of their roasters and want their customers to know the quality of the beans, etc. All she could tell me was that is was of Mexican origin. She could provide no details on flavor notes and didn’t offer to ask the owner or manager. She seemed very dismissive instead of politely saying she didn’t know but would ask. My questions were basic for a coffee house.

I drink my coffee black, and as such, I expect to enjoy the flavor of coffee. The large cup I purchased had no flavor at all; it was disappointingly bland. I looked out at the Tar River and thought I might as well have dipped me cup in there. Perhaps they do a fine job with the frothy foamy drinks they serve, but they fell down on the basic black ☕️

Excellent local coffee shop. They had fresh drip coffee in mid afternoon which was rich and very good! Atmosphere is very welcoming. Easy parking. Loved the music they had playing as well.

We ordered Armericanos, noting that only a 16 oz and 24 oz were offered. Asked how many espresso shots were in that 16 oz.....5 shots!!! What??? The 24 oz also had 5 shots, yet was more expensive, meaning it costs MORE to add 7-8 oz of water? I wanted a 12 ounce 2 shot, "standard everywhere else in America" Americano. We could tailor the 16 oz with less shots, but no price alteration...ok.... But that Americano was not the 3 shots chosen, and was one of the weakest, watery espresso type coffees ever. No, not right. It was undrinkable. I had to toss it. What could we do about it? We were on the road a ways and realized the defunct brew down 10 miles out. Boo...
