Just happened their second location opened up during our stay in DC. This location at 4400 Connecticut Ave NW, was literally doing it’s hard opening when we strolled in. You know what impresses me, hard work, and in service, quality of meal, concern for my satisfaction, and just overall effort I was blown away. Food; FRESH my goodness from the appetizer, to each individual ingredient in a perfectly made oven baked pizza each individual ingredient added to an amazing overall flavor. Service: hard working and committed. When we sat down I saw this young man essentially making a sport of a crowd they had not anticipated for day 1. I could see his predicament and added some understanding to my patients, but this young man never lost focus or track and provided great service with something that is so rare today, sincerity. The owner came to see us at one point to ask us how we were doing and listened intently as I explained my perspective. Great Fresh Food, Service that genuinely cares and prices more than competitive and reasonable. Do yourself a favor, when in the area of 4400 Connecticut NW in the DC, and wanting good food, great service and fair prices, keep the his little place doing what they do best. Serving you! I’ve never left a bad review and this is my 493rd, this is my first one star. The food is not as described and not worth trying.

The Italian panini I ordered you’ll see is not a panini. They also did not include the meats like salami. It was store bought ham and a leathery piece of prosciutto. It came on a hoagie bun with a non fresh and tasteless tomato. Not a panini either or heated like it was supposed to be.

The chicken wings as you can see are chicken wings, but not seasoned or flavored. Just fried in oil and placed on lettuce. Not sure why the lettuce.

The pizza was not horrible. Not good but not horrible. If nothing else was open you could be ok with the pizza. But not worth it if you have other options. I have no idea how they got 50 5 star reviews. I ordered because of that. This is the first one star review I’ve given, I feel bad about it but I got scammed here. We came to D.C. for a couple days from AZ and my son wanted Italian. I sent my Mom some options in many different areas and she chose this place, and I’ll admit when we were dropped off in this area, I wasn’t quite sure, but we decided to go in, and were warmly welcomed, and enjoyed an amazing meal!
