My husband wanted to eat here for our 18th wedding anniversary. Its an hour drive but we thought it would be worth it. We were seated and noticed it was freezing in the room. My husband went and got a jacket for me to wear. We saw another lady leave and come back with a huge sweatshirt and 3 other women having sweaters over their clothes to stay warm so it was a problem for many. Our waiter Tanner took our food and drink orders within 8-10 minutes of arrival. He dropped off bread and said it was unlimited so ask for more. He dropped off our drink (and thankfully waters) and then he proceeded to ignore us for the next 50 minutes. 10 times I tried to get his attention to ask for more bread as he never ONCE returned to our table on his own only when I finally caught him to ask for another bread. He had 6 tables and once 3 left we thought he might stop over now that it was lighter but we were wrong. Another table of Tanners was 2 feet from us and he stopped at their table 5 times to ask them how their food was, refilled their soda drinks, and brought them 3 loaves of bread when they never requested one. After 50 minutes he dropped off the 2 orders of Alfredo (which tasted as blah as you could imagine) we ate under 10 minutes and wanted to leave immediately because it was already such a long time of sitting there but we had to wait for him to bring our check and a box. We left after an hour and 15 minutes and not ONE time did he ever stop at our table and ask if we needed more water, another drink or ask how our food was. We were extremely disappointed and shocked at how such terrible service could truly ruin our anniversary but it did. The food was not worth the wait or the price. We left him a hand written note explaining why we could not tip him as he ignored us and provided us no service yet servers want a 20% tip. As he handed me the box he did say "let me know if I can do anything else for you" um.... we are done and heading out the door, could have used that question an hour and 15 minutes ago. The freezing temps, terrible service, 2 hour round trip drive, and less than mediocre food will not be drawing us back. In 18 years of dinners out for our anniversary this is the first time we have been treated like this and the first time not leaving a tip so that alone speaks volumes. Be courteous and kind to all your tables not just...
Read moreNormally we have good service here but tonight was the worst service I have had at any restaurant. To start we were seated at a dirty table, when we were seated we asked if the table could be cleaned and the host said sure and never came back. Our server came and we asked if we could have the table cleaned and they said they will get someone to clean the table. We were waiting for others to join us, while waiting the server never brought us drinks or bread. When the person came to finally clean our table (roughly 10 minutes later) they ask "you want your table recleaned"? We said yes please as there was ranch, food, obvious circles from the pervious cups, and someone's glasses left in the middle of the table. Once we ordered our food the server never returned to check on us until bringing our main dishes (family platters). Once receiving the main course the server tells us they will be back with plates and our appetizer(for some reason came out after our main meal, and partially cold). We point out that we also need silverware as we never received any and asked for a second loaf of bread. Once the server returned with the plates, silverware, and bread they immediately left without saying anything to us. We had to ask another server for cheese and water. Our server returned after we had been done for quite awhile and we had piled our dishes waiting. Once returning with the check we had our credit card ready to pay immediately but instead of taking the card the server sat the check down and immediately left. A lot of things can be understandable on a busy night but at the time we had visited the restaurant had large open sections, multiple hosts standing around, a server who was on top of the tables beside ours. It is also a bit frustrating when told that there is no bread but it will be out as soon as it comes out of the oven when the server of the tables around us brought bread continuously before and after we were told this. Overall this was the worst experience from a server we have ever experienced. The food was good but that was all diminished by the...
Read moreCan’t recommend Johnny Carino's here in Sioux Falls after our experience tonight. Let me first say that the excuse that you were “really busy” doesn’t fly well with customers that were already patient and waited over 2hrs for their food. We paid for our food also. We ordered delivery on their website at 4:43pm tonight so that my sister who came from out of town to watch our 3 boys so we could go to the concert tonight, had dinner. We were fine with waiting…we also paid the delivery fee and tip. Our order arrived at 6:53pm minus 2 salads, a minestrone soup and oil/garlic for the bread (which we paid for extra bread too) I called them from the concert before it began and explained we/they waited this long as it was; which we were ok with doing so; but then it took you guys the 2 hrs to just “prepare” the order and couldn’t even check the order? One soup and salad was someone’s entire meal. The driver delivered it quickly once it was finally ready. They tried to blame the driver, being really busy (with I guess more important customers than us). When I simply asked for the rest of our order to be delivered because my sister could not leave our home with 5 kids…they told me we’d either have to pick up the missing items or call Uber eats (who THEY chose to do the delivery through) and ask for a refund. I said many times I didn’t want a refund and I couldn’t leave the concert to pick up food THEY forgot…they didn’t care. Come to find out they also didn’t seal the bags. I talked to whoever answered the phone and the “manager” and both were so ignorant and rude I just eventually hung up. I also could not get through on the website with Uber Eats because I didn’t place the order through them/on their app. We will also be sure to take our hundreds of dollars of caterings for my husbands work...
