I have an issue with this location in Wentzville, MO. I ordered through Door Dash after a long drive home with my family expecting this would be a convenient way to have a nice meal. I did not one receive one person’s order. After reaching out to Door Dash I was instructed to call restaurant. I called and spoke with Nicky the manager. She said you use a third part delivery service and I needed to contact them for a refund. I mentioned that I wasn’t satisfied with that response as I have someone at home now going hungry and that if issue was Applebee’s not fulfilling the order it looked poorly on them to which she responded “you will need to contact the third party for a refund.” I honestly don’t make waves or publicly share my negative experiences but when I have had a similar instance with another local business and their response was “we will make your order fresh again and send out with another Door Dasher or you can pick up” this seems a little out of touch. Regardless of who is at fault, we chose you as our dinner of choice and the insensitive nature of the manager compared to a similar experience was very off putting. I’ll admit I threatened to call Door Dash to use credits at a competitor (54th Stree Grill) and did. Order arrived timely and correct. I hate that place and it killed me to do that. I am not seeking public damnation but I want to let you know how your response to an issue, however small it is, makes a difference. Nicky had a pleasant demeanor but the words were wrong and led to this message. Could it have been the Dasher’s fault? Yes. But as a nationwide company, much larger than them, you’d think the response would be to make what was an act of convenience from the customer remain convenient. Especially after a smaller business in a similar situation chose to offer a real solution rather than another inconvenience.
I hope this message and business serves you well and is...
Read moreHad a server Brooklyn who wasn’t very attentive. She asked if we wanted silverware. (Who doesn’t need silverware!! We didn’t even have napkins. And we have a toddler and need to cut food up for. Of course we need silverware. Don’t ask…JUST BRING!). We then ordered Onion rings as a side, she said it would be a “little upcharge” .. a little upcharge is not $3.50. Insane for 5 onion rings. Then when my husband asked about beer pricing she didn’t know. She said “I can go check if you want” (this wording makes the guest feel like an inconvenience. Again, don’t ask…JUST DO!!) should have said “I’m not sure, let me go check and I’ll be right back” … as simple as that. These servers lack so much common sense it’s insane. Stop the guessing games and know your stuff. If you don’t know, then have a small cheat sheet in your server book with the answers. Then shame on the Managers. Poor training! We brought this to the manager Jamie’s attention and all he did was sit there nodding his head, acting all timid, agreeing with us on things we said but didn’t do squat to make us even want to ever come back. He too didn’t know the pricing. My husband asked how much a beer was and he said “I’m not sure” .. well then GO CHECK!!!!! He could had simply said, “let me go check that and I’ll be right back” .. nope. He just said, idk.. all the prices vary. It’s been a while since we have been there and it will be a while before we go back. We usually support small local and I’m upset we didn’t do that this evening. Chains...
Read moreApplebees in general is middle of the road in food quality. But that really is expected (and known) by most people so I can't mark them down for that. I have however had numerous issues with car-side to go at the Wentzville location. I am not going to be using them anymore as the last two times my food order was wrong. Missing items both times which once you get home and finally dig through the bag makes people (my kids) kind of upset about not having food. So then of course I have to drive all the way back up and by the time I get home my food is cold. Both times the girls working the car side were not very apologetic.
On the inside things are pretty good, the servers I have had are competent and the food is as expected. The only negative experience I had (and I am sure is isolated) was last month. A few female workers (young girls) were on break and sat a few tables down. They then proceeded to spray perfume on each other. You can imagine the choking smell of heavy perfume while your trying to enjoy your food (it kind of ruins it). They also were fairy loud, giggling and making a (i'm so awesome) show. Typical of teenage girls, but not really acceptable in a restaurant environment.
However outside that the inside isn't so bad, but I would be a little wary of car side. I have found 54th street near by does a much more professional...
