Monday, December 23, 2024 I ordered on the app for a 9:40pm pick up. Ended up waiting at the pick up window for almost 20 mins to get my food. The manager apologized and said he was short staffed.
I get home and my burrito was cold (I live 3-5 mins away) and I had to warm it up. I take a few bites and the consistency of the burrito felt very slimey and strange enough for me to ask myself what is that? I stopped eating to open it up and the contents inside (besides the incorrect meat & other wrong ingredients) looked like mucous and saliva! It is my belief that my food was tampered with and tainted, it terrifies me to think of with what.
I was so grossed out that I immediately threw it away, I wish I would've been level headed enough to take pictures for evidence.
That night I had a headache, sore throat, and ran a fever. I keep telling myself that maybe the side effects had nothing to do with the burrito I ate, but I honestly believe I had food poisoning.
Now in hindsight...while noone was around, the employee covering the dine-in customers came to the window and told me that if I came inside that he would make my food for me, I declined. He then told me that if I parked in the curbside spot he would make and bring my food out to me, I declined. Before walking away he again reiterated that if I came in that he would make my food for me....I thanked him and told him I'd wait in my car at the window.
Did that employee know something that I didn't know? Was he trying to save me from something?
I WILL NEVER EAT...
Read moreChipotle became the choice for dinner mostly due to proximity. It never occurred to us to look up a review. We’d been to Chipotle before, so we thought we knew what to expect. We were wrong. We’re regulars at the O’Fallon location, and I don’t see us ever returning to the Wentzville location. The 2.7 stars out of 5, seems generous.
For context, we placed an order for drive thru pickup. We got a burrito with double meat, and a burrito bowl with double meat. We paid for double protein and in closely examining the bowl and burrito, this doesn’t even look like a single portion. The food was ice cold, including the side of large queso we ordered.
Every single thing said about the manager rang true. It was a 6:30pm pickup time. The manager, who appeared to be verbally berating the much overwhelmed employees, locked eyes with myself and the driver of the vehicle at least twice. He never acknowledged us. He did not urge or allow the employees to acknowledge us. They appeared to be busy, and all he did was walk around the store making people uncomfortable, and waving a sticker he picked out of the trash with his bare hands. Luckily, he wasn’t handling the food from a germ standpoint. It took 10 minutes for the manager to allow the employee to address/assist us. Would give this place negative stars if possible. Small positive, everything we ordered was there; nothing was missing...
Read moreFOOD POISONING - My older brother ate here last night on 11/7 and woke up projectile vomiting at 2am today 11/8. I don’t know what was in the food or if it had been spoiled because it either hadn’t been cooked to temperature (or an ingredient was left sitting out too long). I have never see him so sick to where he could not stop throwing up- hence why I’m writing this at 2:16am to warn others. I know this place just opened, but food safety is ALWAYS the highest importance; especially since Chipote had that major contamination issue years ago. I’ve already seen reviews reporting issues with food freshness at this new location and haven‘t been motivated to give it a try; even though I was excited when this location was announced. This is unacceptable and we will be notifying management or possibly corporate if need be. I hope no one else has been getting sick here.
This location needs to straighten up if they want to survive in Wentzville, because I’m not touching it after what I saw...
