Nudy's Cafe West Chester — Restaurant in West Chester

So I'm a huge fan of the locations in Exton, Paioli and Chesterbrook, therefore maybe my expectations were high going into this...but I'll never stop here again with so many better places in town! First, I was seated to the right and every single table was covered in dirty plates. The hostess cleared a table for us, but honestly it's unpleasant to be surrounded by dirty plates (5 tables were in this condition, and the place definitely wasn't too busy for this to be excusable). So aside from the general ickiness, the joint was HOT. Like unbearably. Not sure if they don't run the air conditioning or if that area just doesn't cool down.

Now, I can get over this stuff if the food is decent, but the cornbeef special sucked. They put a cold sandwich on burnt toast when I asked for it grilled. They did remake it, but put like 2 slices of meat and a ton of wet coleslaw which really ruined it. The other Nudys do an amazing job with this. My lunch partner ordered the cinnamon french toast, which wasn't that exciting. Should be served with a cream cheese icing or something. It was very cinnamon,, but not sweet. Literally the worst service I have ever received in my life. I have been in the industry for 15 years and I always tip above normal, this server didn’t even deserve a dollar. The server approached our table looking miserable to be there, didn’t even greet the table and said “ drinks?”, once food came she never came back once to check on our table. The burgers we ordered were completely pink and raw in the center for $12.99 and I felt I couldn’t even tell our server about the issue because she wouldn’t even come back to the table after looking back numerous times at our empty cups, and food sitting there she still didn’t care to ask how anything was.

I went to the counter to tell the group of 4 people standing there that I needed drink refills and my server which I never do and they all looked annoyed I was asking. They never refilled my drink instead they gave her the cup. I patiently waited for her to get back to us after she went and did other refills and took a order before she returned. We asked to be seated at a larger table because we were a group of four. They said the area with larger free tables had already been cleaned. The French fries with two of the meals were cold. The other meals were served with chips. One in our group was bumped by a waitress ( not ours ) going by with orders several times and she never offered an apology. Another in our group asked for a refill on her ice tea and told that there was none left, she supposedly got the last of the ice tea. The waitress did bring her water upon request. We got on combined bill because the waitress did not ask if we wanted separate checks. She also never checked about the food so I could not let her know the fries were cold. I do not recall our waitress’ name because I did not catch it if she did introduce herself. Overall the experience was not pleasant and we felt a bit as though the cleaning up for closing was more important than serving us although there was still a large number of guests eating and coming...
