This pizza is a joke. If you don’t want to get ripped off before a event at the United Center, grab a slice somewhere else — because this place is the ripoff.
Outside, the sign says pizza is $6, but inside it’s $8, and with tax it comes to over $9 — for a slice that tastes like cardboard and makes you insanely thirsty for the rest of the evening.
The pizza didn’t even taste fresh. It looked like it had been made somewhere else earlier in the day and brought in for the evening crowd — dry, tired, and reheated to death.
Back in the day, their slices were so big they had to cut them in half just to fit in the box. Now, in that same box, the slice barely even touches the sides.
To make things worse, the guy behind the counter was just awful. Because I didn’t leave a tip for that overpriced pizza, he intentionally left my slice in the oven while serving about seven other people after me — just to burn it out of spite. The result? A slice as hard as a rock.
Never going back there again. If you’re a tourist, please don’t waste your time — Chicago has a hundred better pizzas literally everywhere else or save money for good chicken tenders at...

I was born in NYC raised in Jersey and am a flight attendant so I often work in Boston and Detroit... I've tried lots of American Pizza (my Italian college roommates family owns a pizza shop) so trust me when I say the slices here are Solid! They are so good! I am definitely coming here on all my Chicago overnights! If you're visiting Chicago this spot is a must ! I liked it even better than Giordano's ! The staff was super nice and considerate as well my friend and I don't eat much so they cut the...
Read moreIf I could give this location 0 stars I would. Traveled 20+ minutes on my lunch break to grab a slice, only for them to be closed. It isn’t until you’re physically there looking inside an empty, pizza-less place that you see the sign that reads something like, “IF AN EVENT IS BEING HELD AT THE UC (United Center) WE OPEN AT 4:30PM” ... Would’ve been nice to know that before wasting half of my already limited lunch break commuting there. It’s 2022, post your hours online. There’s also no phone number, so you can’t call in advance just to check and see if they’d happen to be open. Disappointing,...
