The best McDonald’s I have ever visited! The place is large, updated, and beautifully modern. It’s impeccably clean, and all the furniture is in great condition. There’s a spacious outdoor area for dining, which is a huge plus, especially on warm, sunny days. The men’s restroom is the nicest I’ve seen at any McDonald’s, also ideally clean. With many self-service machines by the entrance, I’ve never seen lines inside. The highlight of this McDonald’s is the “Global Favorites” menu, featuring food options from other countries. This menu changes periodically (about every month, as a staff member mentioned), limiting the number of international items available at one time. I ordered entirely from the “Global Favorites” menu, eager to try something new. The McShaker Fries were excellent; I’d order them every time if they were on the regular menu. I also loved the Samurai McSpicy (I removed the lettuce and added tomato), which contains a sweet spicy sauce that gives the burger a very nice flavor. The Grand McExtreme Intense Cheddar was just okay; I was not very impressed by it, to be honest. It is a very filling and greasy burger! Plus, I feel like McDonald’s has something very similar to this burger on its regular menu. For dessert, I got a Boston Cream Donut, and I absolutely loved its flavor. The donut was very fresh, and the cream inside was very soft. For all these items, plus a drink, I paid $24.40. The two burgers were $7.50 each. I believe they should cost about $1 less, especially the Samurai McSpicy, which is not that big. The service was fast; my food was ready in about 5 minutes. Also, I want to mention that the staff really cares about cleanliness; they walk back and forth all the time checking and cleaning the tables. I wish all McDonald’s locations offered the International Menu items. It adds variety and unique options, especially in desserts! The International Menu had many dessert options, which I loved, as I always enjoy something sweet after a meal. Unfortunately, the White Chocolate McPops were unavailable a few times when I visited; they looked so good! A staff member mentioned they are very popular. Now, every time I visit Chicago, I will make a point to stop by this McDonald’s. I highly recommend it, especially for the “Global...

I was surprised to find a McDonald's in the U.S. with a global menu, so we had to make a visit while in Chicago. Located next to Hamburger University, the restaurant's sleek, modern design matched the school's aesthetic, making the experience feel even more unique.
We placed our order at the kiosks, which allowed us to browse the menu and customize our selections. A nice bonus is that you can use McDonald's app coupons here. Once you order, you grab a number tent, find a table, and they bring the food to you along with a complimentary cup of water. Service was fast, and our food arrived quickly.
6 Piece Spicy Garlic Black Pepper Nuggets - Japan ($3.49): I had high expectations for this one, but it was just okay. The nuggets tasted like regular McNuggets with a hint of black pepper, and the spicy garlic flavor didn't really stand out.
Masala Shaker Fries - Canada ($4.49): They provide a masala powder packet and a bag to shake and mix with the fries. The fries themselves were standard, but the seasoning was flavorful.
BBQ Smokehouse McCrispy ($5.99) + Extra Sliced Red Onion ($0.59) + 3 Stripes of Bacon ($1.87) - UK: This was the better sandwich of the two we tried. The soft potato bun, crispy chicken, and balanced flavors made it a solid choice. If you eat dairy, I'd recommend keeping the white cheddar cheese for a flavor boost.
The 280 Dijon ($5.99) + Shredded Lettuce ($0.49) - France: We opted for no Swiss/American cheese and add slivered onions. This one was a letdown. The beef patty was dry and lacked flavor, and the sandwich overall was underwhelming. We ended up adding McNugget sweet & sour sauce to improve it.
McPoPs - Spain & Switzerland ($3.99): We got the mix to try all three flavors: Spain's white chocolate & biscotti cookie butter and Switzerland's berry. These mini donuts were soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet--a great way to...
Read moreMy recent visit to McDonald's in Chicago was a mix of the familiar and the tantalizingly new. While McDonald's consistently delivers on its classic menu items, my curiosity led me to explore some of the unique offerings available here.
First, the sweet potato fries were a pleasant surprise. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, they were a delightful alternative to the standard fries. The slightly sweet flavor added an interesting twist to the meal, and I appreciated the effort to provide something different.
The nuggets, a staple of McDonald's, lived up to the expected taste and quality. They were hot, crispy, and satisfying, as always. It's reassuring to know that no matter where you are, you can count on McDonald's to serve up their signature items consistently.
However, I wish there was more international items on the menu. McDonald's has a rich history of adapting its offerings to suit local tastes around the world, and it would be exciting to see a broader selection of these international delights at this location in Chicago. Diversifying the menu with more global options could add a unique and exciting dimension to the McDonald's experience.
The staff at this McDonald's location were friendly and efficient, ensuring a quick and hassle-free visit. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable atmosphere for dining in.
In conclusion, McDonald's in Chicago is a dependable choice for those seeking classic fast-food fare. The sweet potato fries and nuggets offered a welcome departure from the norm, hinting at the potential for more exciting menu additions. If you're in the mood for a quick and satisfying meal, this McDonald's won't disappoint, but there's room for even more culinary adventure...
