Uni Uni Bubble Tea Wicker Park — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

The boba and snacks are quite nice here, and this is coming from a boba fanatic. I was so excited when they opened last year because there was a definitely a niche to fill. However, I do think the service has room for improvement.

I had placed an order for future pickup (just one hour in advance)- it was very clearly stated within my confirmation that I will be picking up my order in one hour’s time. I’ve waited for quite a while for in-person orders in the past, so figured this would be a better use of my time. However, it seems this location fills all orders in real time and just sets the order aside until pickup unless the order is placed over the phone. I don't understand why an advanced order is an option online if it's not adhered to but I digress. Upon pickup, I was berated for not having called in to place an advanced order and was given cold food. I didn't want to further the discussion and show my confirmation because there was a line of others behind me waiting for their orders to be filled as well.

I don't order out much these days because life is expensive, but gave in today for a little treat. I don't foresee me making future trips to this location based off of my prior experiences. However, if you don't plan to place orders in advance and have the time to sit and wait, I do still recommend this location. Personally, I think I'm back on the hunt...

The tea and boba options are actually pretty good here, but the interior environment and customer service really bring this place down. Which is a shame, because it seems like a very cute shop from the exterior.

As soon as my friends and I stepped inside, we were struck by the SMELL. They must have a plumbing or sewer problem somewhere in the back, because there is a strong smell of sewage as soon as you enter. We initially wanted to eat inside, but could not because the smell was so strong and unappetizing. We opted to enjoy our drinks outside, even though it was snowing.

You order by kiosk inside, which is okay but a little impersonal. The orders are prepared pretty quickly and are handed to you by a non-smiling employee. This, compounded with the smell, makes this feel like a place you do not want to linger in.

All things considered, this is a solid place to grab boba if you are in the mood; but...

Found this little spot and popped in to see what's good. Cute spot with unicorns, bunnies, and rainbows decorated on the walls lol. I went with the spicy popcorn chicken and these boys were alright. The seasoning was different but good thou and you get a decent portion size too. Wish it came with some dipping sauce thou. 7.1 Also, got the Ancient Brown Sugar Milk Tea w. Tapioca and with all those words you figure it would smack but nah this wasn't that great at all. Idk what these black chewy things were at the bottom but they didn't help...it actually made it worst for me. They have various others drinks on the menu I would come back and try just not this one....
