Staff was friendly. Atmosphere was enjoyable. Game and beer selection was on point. Despite that, the experience was not entirely satisfying.
Many of the arcade machines were inoperable or worn to the point where the games were hardly playable.
The primary reason, however, for the 2 star rating is the poor quality of the service. One of the staff members had made his rounds cleaning up near the arcade machines, unfortunately there was no attention to detail as my drink (3/4 full glass) was taken along with several empty ones. I was casually playing at one of the machines near the drink placement. By the time I had noticed it was gone the staff member was already making his way back to the bar. I tried to call his attention but to no avail. I approached the bar and let one of the bartenders know that my drink had been taken away in error. She took a moment to discuss the situation with, who I assume was, the manager. After a minute she returned and told me that, they were not willing to re-pour the drink. I was offered no form compensation or reimbursement and was practically told "too bad" for a mistake made by one of their own.
Though the cost of the drink is unimportant in this matter, it is the principle of the matter. I spent money for a product I did not get to finish and was given no alternative except now that I am out of the money I spent.
Luckily, I paid for this drink on a credit card and will be disputing the charge.
Overall the experience was not favorable due to an unfortunate circumstance, to which no reconciliation was even attempted. Personally I will not return nor will I recommend this to anyone who intends on going out for more than just a drink.
If one does venture to this locale, it is highly recommended either finish your drink before playing at the machines or have someone hold it because the staff will not care, even if it's...
Read moreI rate this place negative in customer service and entertainment (I wish I didn't have to star it all just to be able to post). We were two couples meeting in Chicago for NYE weekend, traveling from separate states. We purchased game vouchers in advance via GroupOn - expiration date, April 25, 2019 and redeemable Sunday-Thursday. No additional stipulations about special events. We took Lyft from our hotel to have a little couples fun on Monday, NYE. Upon walking in, we were quickly approached by the door man yelling, "y'all got tickets?" We say !yes and pulled out our printed pre-paid vouchers. The door man continues by saying the vouchers would not be accepted because there was concert and if we wanted to get in, we had to pay additional $40. We tried to explain that our vouchers did not stipulate any blocked days or events. We then requested a refund as a resolution to the matter so ee can leave. He referred us to the manager. The "manager" Dan was far more rude and disrespectful than the door man. He was immediately dismissive, did not want to discuss our concerns, showed great disinterest in the fact that we previously paid for the vouchers. After being embarrassed and preparing to leave, we asked for his name to dispute the matter with Groupon later. He said, "Dan." We asked about his last name. He said, "you don't need to know that." We are 2 AA couples, 40+ expecting to simply enjoy one of our several pre-paid activities during the weekend and instead, we embarrassed and dismissed without cause by a seemingly predominantly white staff and environment. Very humiliating. I would never recommend or refer this establishment anyone unless you are comfortable with being treated...
Read moreThe selection is good having video and live entertainment simultaneously is always a unique concept, especially for the generations that didn't get to grow up with arcades being everywhere.
However the bathrooms are absolutely atrocious nightmares going inside of one immediately makes you think that the janitors constantly take long vacations if there are even janitors.
Overcrowding is obviously based on popularity of any good bar or restaurant, however since there is no cover fee at the door the biggest issue is literal overcrowding which can easily be handled by a bouncer or close circuit camera paying attention to the people density.
This bar is what you call a long shot bar, that means it's narrow and extremely cramped but it makes up for it in length over with. That being said it should not in any way shape or form take almost 10 minutes to go from the entrance to the door to the back bathroom or opposite wall corner arcade machines.
The arcade machines also are kept up in a decent condition however they are rarely changed or updated and upgraded for different games.
Live performances are always a plus in fact that alone almost warrants a 4 star in my book. But when the live performance stage is less than 4' away from people trying to play arcade machines, It shows me a lack of concern or acknowledgement for Room design and organization.
The staff are friendly the drinks are cold but you need more than that in this day and age if you want repeat customers, The gaming novelty is fine and is a much appreciate it a static but that gets them in the door, but it doesn't guarantee a profit especially when you have no...
