How many mascot faces can you take in one photo? I did a contest with my daughter at Jollibee. Every time I drove on I-10 from west to east to IKEA, I saw a squirrel at the top of the building next to IKEA. Eventually I realized that it was not a squirrel but a bee, Jollibee, which I knew from two decades ago in Manila, Philippines.
The building has the mascot and logo of the American headquarters of Jollibee. Across the road, there is a Jollibee restaurant. I consider it the flagship store. My daughter was the one who told me that Jollibee is a better fried chicken option. Later on, I tried one at the Alhambra location and proved she was right.
We went to the flagship store after visiting IKEA and ordered a New Bucket Treat A. It included 6 pieces of Spicy Chickenjoy, mashed potato, crispy fries, and a large Chickenjoy gravy. Let's talk about it.
Spicy Chickenjoy 5/5 When I first ordered fried chicken at the Alhambra restaurant, I requested no chicken breast. The server told me they only serve thighs and legs. Trust me, do not order the regular one. The spicy version is much better.
Mashed Potato 5/5 At the very beginning, the texture of the mashed potato made me feel weird. It was not smooth but had a chewy texture. I looked carefully and noticed some purple potato skin. Later, I even found a small piece of raw potato. Interesting. Eventually, I learned from the internet that Jollibee is famous for its mashed potato with special texture, unlike the industrial mashed potato powder. Great. I love it.
Chickenjoy Gravy 5/5 Instead of just pouring gravy onto the mashed potato, Jollibee gives you a full cup of gravy. I love gravy. It reminded me of Jim Gaffigan's comedy, he mentioned a senior man drinking gravy. Funny. I like to dip the fried chicken in the gravy. I also like to mix the gravy with mashed potato and dip the chicken in that.
Pineapple Quencher 2/5 This is the one my daughter recommended. She likes it. But for me, it was not that good. Very light pineapple flavor.
Peach Mango Pie 3/5 Around the early 90s, I went to McDonald's in Shanghai. I was shocked by the apple pie. How could a spring roll shaped pie provide so much happiness? But after decades, I've grown tired of such fast food pies. The peach mango pie from Jollibee is average. Acceptable.
On the wall, they mentioned that Jollibee has 1,300 restaurants worldwide. Then I found out it was outdated. According to Wikipedia, it had more than 1,600 restaurants worldwide at the beginning of 2024.

Read moreFirst time trying Jollibee I was excited. Unfortunately, when I open my bag to make sure I had all my items. I noticed my French fries weren't warm. To my disbelief when I tried them, the where absolutely cool. Still in hopes for my first experience to be a good experience, I pulled over in parking lot and exchange the fries. As I walk in I received zero greetings, mind you the restaurant was empty. I mentioned my cool fries to the cashier who also happened to the person who took my at the drive thru window. Again, to my disbelief she did not seem to be surprised by comment. She exchange with a snarly attitude. I became uncomfortable and realized how my first Jollibee experience would be. Through the process of exchange, the 3 employee in the restaurant at the time began speaking in there language while continuously giving me uncomfortable glares. At that time with such discomfort, I decided to wait over in the restroom. At that time I was surprised yet again with one of the restroom conditions and being out of order. I used the available restroom which was not in quality condition. While I was in there an employee was pulling at the door which cause more discomfort. At this time my fresh fries where ready for pickup but unfortunately now at this time my chicken sandwiches where no longer hot. Still optimistic that my food would taste great regardless of the poor customer service experience, I was yet again disappointed. My disappointment was that although my chicken sandwiched was still slightly warm on the outside, on the very inside it was now cold. At this point in time I still ate the meal considering I was still hungry and did not want to feel like I was losing out on money. I was left with not only a bad taste in my mouth, but also was left with a sicking feeling in my stomach. Unfortunately it wasn't just my self who was left feeling ill, my 9 month pregnant partner shared the same unfortunate experience which is my main reason for this complaint. I was told many great things about Jollibee and was excited to give it a try. To my surprise not onlywas I left with a bad experience with the restaurant it self but also left with a discomforting feeling being that the restaurant I visited was next to the Jollibee corporate building on Barrance in West Covina. I hope future customers do not experience are unfortunate experiences. I hope you find my complaint with good intent, My purpose was and is for Jollibee's improvement.

We placed order for dine in, we had 1 soda but they did not give cup so we try to find around but did not see so we came back to cashier to ask, then we have cup for soda. We then look for napkins but they do not have outside, they will give you with your food so it means if you need anything from a straw, sauce, napkins you have to go to ask, I am not comfortable with that. Not sure why they do not put comdiment outside like any other fast food store to make thing easier for customers.
About food, looked good but taste is not. It is not for someone who can not tolerate salty and especially for those who has blood pressure. They are super salty, I never need to have drink with food when eating since it is not good to eat and drink at same time for my stomach but I had to grab drink from my husband to drink and tried to finished the burger because it is too salty. I also tried my husband spagetti and chicken thigh, super salty as well. We used to eat Jolibee in OC between Santa Ana and Tustin, food was very good not this crazy salty. I believe they share same receipe but not sure why everything here is too salty like this. My burger came out was almost cold is a minus point again. Hopefully the kitchen can check again food seasoning amount and that food cab serve faster to avoid cold food...
