Went there tonight. Ordered a 1/2lb burger and a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. Price was great, atmosphere was great, food was about on par with in n out. Reason for 1 star was service! 5 people who ordered after me got their food first. Took 25 minutes from the time of order (per the text I receive when my credit card is run) for me to get my food. The menue is basic so there's no need for it to take this long (keep in mind I don't tip until the end but this is one of those places who has you sign the receipt, which has a tip line, at the time of order). My wife and I both asked multiple times what's taking so long and we kept being told it's next... after a few times they were eventually right. What I did notice though, was at the time of order, I did not include a tip (wanted to finish the experience and food before I rewarded). The cashier made a note on our order as I walked away and he also stacked other orders boxes on top of purs. I'd suspect this is what it took so long. Hopefully the facility can figure out their processes, timeliness, nepotism and provide the same level of service as the quality...
Read moreMy friend and I came to Carney's on sunset boulevard for dinner tonight. I ordered the half pound chili cheeseburger, the Chicago dog and the chili cheese fries with onions. The half pound chili cheeseburger is thick and juicy smothered in chili cheese pickles and tomatoes. The Chicago dog comes with onions relish and mustard and when you bite into it the hot dog snaps just like the ones in New York. The chili cheese fries were incredible. They come with a huge portion of chili on top with cheese and raw or grilled onions. I definitely prefer the raw onions. The restaurant was busy tonight, we had to wait in line for about 10 minutes. They have their own parking lot including handicap spaces and parking was very easy. This place has been here for so many years and the food is excellent. You could tell the people that were there were all regular customers. I've been coming here for many years and will continue to do so. If you had to order one thing on the menu I would definitely recommend getting the chili...
Read moreI have been going to restaurant ever since I was a child, and have enjoyed every bit of their food. It's a perfect mix of the unique hole in the wall type of joint with a hipster vibe to be located on the Sunset strip. If you're wondering about it in comparison to other restaurants: it gives me an In N Out feel with their simple menu, like a McDonald's of the Sunset strip where their food is consistently good at a decent price for the West Side (yes I know there are fast food places a few blocks away, but this is better quality food and feels less corporate and more homey.), while feeling like an old Italian restaurant that you go to and see the pictures of the restaurant being built and the owners and all (again less corporate). Also, I've been addicted to their chocolate covered frozen bananas forever, suggest you get one as desert. Over all if you are traveling to the West side area you have to stop by Carney's at least once for the experience. Hope you all enjoy it, and best of...
