I came here for a late lunch, as I was on this side of town for once in a blue moon. You can't ask for a better location for people watching and outdoor seating on a nice day. There's plenty of street parking in the neighborhood, which is nice. When I walked up to the cafe, a sign instructed me to wait in this particular area in order to be seated, which I did. After a few minutes, a nice patron informed me I needed to step inside to order.
I ordered a chicken Caesar salad wrap with some fries (for an extra $5.95). The nice young lady let me know it came with chips, but I decided to get the fries anyway (what the hell, it's America).
There are glasses on the table, but no place to actually fill up your water. After about 25 minutes, and watching people wait in line for no host to come out, I walked back inside to check on my order.
When my order appeared (not too long after I asked about it), it came without the chips. Which was very off-putting. Since I have zero shame, I asked for them, because I love chips and like I said, I have zero shame. BTW, worth noting, a very stingy serving of fries.
At this stage in the evening, I'm starving and my meter is running. I have to say the wrap is very medicore, and on the sour side??? I try to avoid dousing my food in any dipping sauces to save myself from any more time in the gym, but damn this wrap could use some salvation. In case anyone was wondering, the chips were nothing out of the ordinary.
I could have gotten past the forgettable wrap and the non-user-friendly setup. But, 30 minutes for my order is just...

As a born and raised Angeleno who’s been around the taco trucks, sushi spots, and overpriced kale bowls block a few times, believe me when I say: this is the BEST Caesar salad in all of Los Angeles — and I don’t throw that kind of praise around lightly.
Let’s talk about the salad first. The romaine? Crisp enough to wake you up better than your morning espresso. The dressing? Creamy, garlicky, tangy perfection with that anchovy whisper that lets you know they’re not cutting corners. The parmesan? Generously shaved like it’s trying to win your heart. And don’t even get me started on the croutons — golden, crunchy, clearly not from a bag. I’d fight someone over the last one.
Now, enter Hector — the Caesar salad sensei. This man didn’t just bring me food; he brought an experience. Polite, professional, and smoother than Sinatra with a bread basket. Hector checked in just enough to make me feel cared for, but not so much that I had to fake chewing every time he walked by. He even gave a pro tip: “Add grilled chicken if you’re feelin’ fancy.” (I did. It was magical.)
If you’re visiting from out of town, put this Caesar salad on your bucket list. And if you’re an LA native like me, prepare to have your salad standards permanently ruined — in the best way possible.
10/10 would recommend. 11/10...
Read moreDialogue Café nails that rare combo of laid-back vibe with food that seriously overperforms. The Protein Roll Bowl has become a regular order for me—super fresh, packed with flavor, and somehow leaves you full without feeling weighed down. On the comfort side, the Turkey Club is a sleeper hit. The bread alone is worth a mention—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and clearly chosen with care.
Eggs here are next-level. They’ve got this rich, dark orange hue that makes you think they came straight from a backyard chicken coop, and the taste backs that up—no bland diner scramble here. And if you’re more in the mood for indulgence, go straight for the Brisket Burrito. It’s rich, smoky, and feels like someone in the kitchen is really taking pride in what they’re doing.
The coffee drinks are excellent across the board—smooth, balanced, and never bitter. Outdoor seating is a big draw, though it does get packed, especially on weekends. Service holds up pretty well under the rush, and the staff stays friendly even when the line is 10 deep.
The only real downside is the parking—expect a hunt. But once you’re seated and that food hits the table, you’ll stop caring. Dialogue’s the kind of place that makes it into your weekly...
