Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in West Jordan

Absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service and the soft serve machine is almost always broken. I NEVER leave reviews, good or bad, but this Rita's is so terrible I would be remiss if I didn't say anything. We have tried giving this place a chance several times and every, single time it has been a horrible experience. The teenagers that are on duty look as if they are extremely burdened to serve you. One girl even sighed loudly and rolled her eyes at me when I asked for rainbow sprinkles; as if it was such a bother to walk over to the drawer to get them. Another time at the checkout, a teen worker accidentally knocked over the ice cream cone my husband had balanced on the counter while he paid. She laughed and unempathetically and sarcastically said, "sorry" and didn't even offer to replace it. Very unprofessional behavior and lack of quality service. We have found it worth the extra trip to the Rita's near Herriman/Riverton because the service is SO much better there (they actually greet you and smile) and the soft serve maker is...

I’ve usually had a good experience but when I went tonight I ordered a gelati which is the Italian ice with frozen custard but was instead given vanilla ice cream. I asked if the menu had changed and I was talked that was I was given was custard. It was a ball of vanilla ice cream that they grabbed from the ice cream freezer and when I brought up that the frozen custard doesn’t have an intense vanilla flavor the ice cream does and it’s a completely different texture. The ice cream doesn’t mix as well with the shaved ice and I was told it’s the same ingredients so it’s the same thing. I asked about it not coming from the machine as it’s usually swirled and that’s when the employee told me the machine was broken. I just let her know that if the machine is down they should at least let the customers know that they’re using ice cream as a replacement because they’re not getting what...

It was a horrible experience!! My husband got a large cone and it was only half full. I was supposed to get a large sundae and only got two really small scoops of peanut butter cups with very little frozen custard. If I just wanted a candy bar then I would have gone and gotten me one a whole lot cheaper than paying $10 for it. We noticed that everyone else had better service and more food in their orders than what we had. It was almost like they didn't want us there.
