Handel's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in West Valley City

This place has really great ice cream, unfortunately the employees hygiene is one of the worst I've seen in the food industry, even 6 other people left the place after the incident. To start there was only one person taking orders and the line was getting busy she would serve ice cream and do the register taking cash and not washing her hands after, a little while after a second team member showed up started working and didn't wash his hands, he was always touching his nose and scratching his neck several times and after 5 min a third member came in and he kinda "washed" his hands, put hem in the water to get them wet and took them out and dry them, they all started working and scooping ice cream putting the scoops back in and also grabbing all comes with their nasty hands. When we asked who was in charge we talked to a shift leader and she mentioned that she and the guy that was scratching his neck were shift leaders, we waited for her to finish serving the ice cream and we talked to her one on one, she was very professional and understood the situation, she started grabbing the cones with a napkin, so we wanted to leave it at that, but when we were leaving the guy that wet his hands said out loud "I did wash my hands" since he wanted to make a scene I turned around and said " you didn't even wash your hands for 20 seconds, getting them wet and not washing them with soap was not very helpful and he said "I don't care, they all had very nasty attitudes, if they don't like their jobs they should look for something else. Worst experience ever , no greeting , they didn’t even say what can I get you , we had to just start talking , then I asked for a marshmallow Sunday and they looked at clueless like they had no idea what I was talking about , my wife has to point out the marshmallow bottle to them , and then they put chocolate on when I didn’t even ask for it , then they barley put any marshmallow on it. Gangsta girl was the worst and had a “I hate my job and life” look on her face . I will never go to that location again, out of the 6 people there there was one white girl that actually was trying to help me . Train your people better , I swear they all just came from the back from smoking a fat one . Horrible...

Disappointed in the decline of Iceberg? Shake Shack just not scratching the itch? I've fallen into that boat the last few years myself, and actually I'm grateful I didn't discover Handel's until recently, else I would probably be drastically thicker than I already am; Handel's brings back the memories of what an Iceberg malt used to be; chunky, huge, delicious. They have an excellent selection of flavors, good luck choosing the first time. They do shakes as well as scoops, and they have takeout containers as well if you are forced to share back home.
