So, where to start. We came here as part of a Yellowstone tour (restaurant not our choice I may add). The experience of sitting down and sharing was not our cup of tea but that's personal preference so that will not affect my review, it may have been different if we were just alone as opposed to a group.
Anyway, when we sat down, there was chop sticks on the table, with bowls. Without even asking, a server just came over and slammed a plate and fork in front of us both and walked off (ok, so we can't use chopsticks but that's besides the point). They just saw we were Caucasian and assumed, they were racially discriminating against us as the Chinese people sat with us were not 'dumped' with a plate and fork. It was like we were an inconvenience. We were not offered a drink at any point. We asked what was in the food (allergy reasons) and was just ignored. Directly behind our seats, and I mean, directly, there were piles of dirty bowls and plates, lovely.
Cigarette butts scattered outside and restaurant very out dated and in need of a very good clean.
Didn't get as far as eating the food as it looked.... Well. I wouldn't feed it to my dog.
We got up and went to subway.
If you're from China and / or like dirty, rude restaurants, this may be for you....
Read moreWe enjoyed a very delicious dinner here at the China Fun restaurant in West Yellowstone. We chose the Dinner for Two which included Egg Drop Soup for me and Hot & Sour Soup for hubby I chose as my entree Shrimp w/ Broccoli (in a white sauce) with LOTS of shrimp! And hubby chose Kung Pao Chicken (in a dark sauce). Both were delicious and the Kung Pao had plenty of 'heat' 😊 Dinner also included Fried Rice, an Egg roll & a Fried Shrimp. I also ordered Steamed Rice for me. The portions were very good sized! So we took the remainder of the food home and enjoyed it the next day for lunch. We ordered two waters to drink. The water was cool but had no ice. I ordered a Diet Coke ( with a splash of real Coke 😃) and it came with no ice. A little odd for America, but I know from being in China, this is normal. Our waiter was attentive and service very quick. The price was just $22. per person. We felt that was very reasonable $$. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good...
Read moreFirst thing people need to understand is this is a restaurant that deals with Chinese tour groups. That should tell you the food won't be too far away from authentic because its customers are visiting from China. When we got there there was no tour groups so it's rather quiet and nice. There were only us in a very large dining room. The young waiter was very frank and helpful. He suggested what's authentic and what's no good. The six dishes we had were all pretty good. We also had a little chat with the chief and he gave us some Szechwan salted vegetables for free that he just received from a guest. We are not used to that flavor but that's a nice gesture nonetheless. The food came very quickly. I think many of them were already cooked to prepare for the tour groups. Take Red Lotus for comparison, the food here is much better but Red Lotus has the better decoration or atmosphere if you like crowds. I would take food over...
