Location, location, location! We were only here for one night but enjoyed our short stay. We arrived around 10pm, since we stayed in Yellowstone until well after dark, and all went smoothly at check-in. Since we were so tired, we especially appreciated the juice and coffee offered even that late--a nice perk! Parking in the hotel lot that late, though, was a bit of a problem, and we almost had to park on the other side of the hotel well away from our room. We luckily ended up finding the last open spot by the front office. The hotel building itself, in our opinion, is really neat. We felt like we were in National Lampoon's Vacation with the vintage vibes! We loved that the room entrance is outside (glad we were on the first floor), and we loved the kitchyness (is that a word?) of the hotel. At the risk of sounding old, it reminded us of the "good-old days" of traveling when we were kids 40 years ago. The room was clean (the drapes were a bit soiled), but everything else was good. We slept well and got up early for breakfast before heading back into the park. The owners, (I think), gave us a warm welcome when we came in to eat. It was a great way to start the day. Breakfast was good, too. They had 2 waffle machines (one made 4 mini-waffles which are our favorites), eggs, potatoes, cereal, and fruit. The area to eat is really small, so we're glad it wasn't busy when we went; however, there is a lot of overflow seating outside the hotel for all guests to eat. Although it was our most expensive stay over the course of our 7-day vacation, we understand they have the location,...
Read moreWe try to stay at Best Western's whenever we travel so we have a pretty good idea of their quality. This Yellowstone one has a great location and most of the usual amenities they provide. ||The rooms are a little dates but they are a good size. There are two buildings on this property, the first one has doors that face the outside and the one in the back has interior facing front doors. We stayed in this one and I think it might have been a little quieter because of it. The down side to the rooms is that the ac/heat unit is limited to what temp you can adjust too and no matter what setting, low, high or auto, the fan kicks on and off. We like to have a constant fan in hotels for white noise as well as our room on the cooler side and this was not possible with the units. Wifi works great.||There is fresh coffee and tea all day and the usual breakfast fare but it is a very small eating area and it fills up quickly. There is also a place to refill you water bottles for going in to the park. ||The staff was all wonderful and attentive to what we needed. We also had a dog with us and they we're out of pet rooms but made sure we were accommodated. For any pet owners, there is a big field/ park right outside so a great walking area.||Parking is very limited and the lot fills up quickly in the evenings. There is no workout center and the pool is small but you're not here for those things anyway. Would recommend this hotel if...
Read moreBefore we made the reservation, I called Best Western and the company confirmed that I could easily use the 2 gift cards that we earned through our membership at check-in. The morning before check-in, we called again to confirm and we were told that yes, they were usable and it would be easy at check in. We arrived at check in to use them and the gal had no idea how to use them and prolonged our check-in by 45 minutes, making our kids sit in the dark waiting room late at night. When we were finally allowed to enter our room, we were missing the kids bedding, the phone didn't work, and I had a full price hold on my bank account. Check out was once again prolonged because the gift cards were still a problem. If Best Western has promotions for members, the company and the individual property owners absolutely need to know how to professionally and quickly use them, or else those promotions just make the visit worse for members. We do enjoy using our membership across the country but will not be staying at this...
