Had this on my to-do list for a while, finally made it. $10 for an adult with no discount, students get in cheaper, veterans free. The museum is lovely- clean, fairly well put together, with several topical exhibits. It focuses mostly on the advent of trains, cars, and roads in Yellowstone, the destruction of the Native people, and bears. There is also a small theater. It is smaller, content-wise, than other museums- but there is plenty to read and if you're thorough, you could spend over an hour here. There is also a gift shop. Would recommend, will not go again. Was small enough to where I felt I saw most everything it had to offer.

Was lucky enough to be here the day the 1st ever train came to West Yellowstone, so was no charge. Usually $10 for an adult. Inside only 2 videos were playing, even though 4 are listed. I did see admission is good for 2 days. There wasn't many pieces of history inside as I thought. The train depot inside and out, as well as the dining room areas are very cool to wander around. I caught a walking tour and was honored too have a lady who worked here when she was 17 years old, stop by and visit with her family. I'm guessing she was around 85-90 of age.

If you are visiting the Yellowstone national park then you should definitely visit the Yellowstone Historic Centre. The museum preserves and documents important moments in the history of the national park and the town of West Yellowstone. There are video presentations on the park, exhibits of old vehicles used in the town and pieces on some of the people who helped to develop West Yellowstone into the place it is today.

Amazing sights to see around the area in an around town. They had the original Yellowstone school bus out front. Some of the first snow mobiles and snow plows. Tells you all about the first settling travelers and how the development of snow mobiles first started here. Very neat historical auto mobiles and a nice chuck of history on the town I would recommend for people who like to get a feel for the history here. Around...
