With less than 3 weeks before our trip to Yellowstone, our private house rental fell through. I was frantically searching the internet for a place to stay in West Yellowstone. Everything was booked. I found the Whispering Pines, read the reviews and was skeptical, but at that time we didn't have much of a choice and ended up saving us $350. The little cabins are very basic, but adorable. We stayed in Cabin D. It was small for a family, but was plenty big enough for my husband and I. It has 3 rooms, plus a bathroom and two closets. 2 rooms each with a double bed and one small room with a twin bed as soon as you walked into the cabin. We stayed in the larger room with the TV, desk and mini-fridge. The bed and pillows were clean and very comfy! As with other reviews, they could use a some updating in the wifi and electrical department, however, we made it work. There weren't many places to charge phones, cameras and laptops. There was a three prong outlet in the bathroom where I charged my laptop. I would suggest bringing a surge protector with a 2-prong adapter. The wifi was spotty, but worked pretty well if you were outside sitting on one of the porches. It was extremely windy the week we were there and sitting outside wasn't a good option due the the dust from the gravel road we were on, but the cabin was clean and met all of our basic needs. It has a nice sized mini fridge. A microwave would have come handy, to heat up our leftovers, but, like I said, we made it work. Cute, private, place, at the edge of town and within walking distance to most everything. Easy, friendly check-in. Parking was right outside our door and it was so close to the West entrance of Yellowstone, like maybe 5 minutes, if that. We live in the country, so staying in a crowded hotel or house in town would have drove us crazy, so this worked well for us as it was much more private. We did enjoy our time there. For the value, it was well worth the stay. Just like a basic hotel, but...
Read moreWe stayed here because we simply cannot afford $350 per night or more. West Yellowstone is crazy expensive and lacks quality but we were here to enjoy the outdoors and not the town. Two nights for $220 is a steal in a town like this. We prefer cabins as they are more outdoorsy and allow for more freedoms. Check in is at 4p and check out at 11a. The cabins are small and as far as I know our cabin had no fridge nor microwave. Bathroom is somewhat spacious; fresh towels were placed the next day, beds are very soft and uncomfortable but we slept like babies the first night. The 2nd was tough, there was construction going on right in front if our cabin and we couldn't really sleep. There are two doors to the cabin but one wouldn't open, I wonder if it was a decoy.. overall I would stay here again but only giving 3 stars because of lack in cleanliness and bathroom faucet kept on leaking. If you have any type of allergy or phobia I would not stay here, there are bugs outside and sometimes they come in but hello you're in Yellowstone's...
Read moreAs others have written, the cabins are pretty much as they look. They are very rustic; however, they do have updated bathrooms. ||We had a family of four, and I will say that the space was fairly tight as we were traveling and had quite a bit of stuff to get out. Not tons of surfaces to set things on as there is not a lot of extra space besides the bed area.||Also just a heads up, as these are quite small, there's no coffee microwave, fridge, etc. Since the cabins are older, there are not a lot of plugs, and the plugs that are on the wall are 2 prong, so you may need an adapter. With that being said, there was a power strip that was already plugged in, so that worked well for us.||With all this being said, the cabin was SUPER clean and very homey feeling. When we arrived it was raining a bit and it felt good to turn the heat on a bit and feel cozy. The host was very friendly and we were very happy...
