Thank goodness the food was outstanding. My wife and I stopped in for lunch this past Sunday, excited to finally try the new location after hearing so many great things. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, and while we were told the wait would be 15–20 minutes, it ended up being closer to 30. Not the end of the world, but a bit frustrating given that two tables sat empty the entire time, one of which we ended up being seated at.
Once seated, our server was super friendly, and gave a great overview of the menu. Unfortunately, after taking our drink order, he disappeared for nearly half an hour before returning. On top of that, the restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold. With the AC blasting, doors wide open, and a cool, overcast day outside, it was almost unbearable—we actually debated leaving twice.
Thankfully, we stayed, because the food was absolutely worth it. We started with the OMG Grilled Cheese (and yes, OMG—amazing), followed by the Prosciutto & Brie panini, which was equally delicious. The flavors and quality more than made up for the rough start.
We’ll definitely give it another try, and hopefully next time the overall dining experience will live up to the...
Read moreThis is my second visit to this particular location. Food, drinks, and ambiance are on point. But I’m writing this review with less than 5 stars due to my experience. When I arrived at noon on Tuesday, 8/5, I was greeted and welcomed by an attentive young man behind the bar who made it a point to not only be attentive and kind with me but with everyone who sat at the bar that day. By the time my girlfriend met me at 1230, it was discovered by his female coworker he’d made a mistake in which she spent the next 10 minutes loudly reprimanding and patronizing him directly in front of my friend and myself. Not only was it awkward, it was unprofessional and unacceptable. I was told later by this female bar tender he went home. I continually hear organizations express frustration with employee retention. I’m guessing after her behavior with him he won’t return to work-which is unfortunate because he was good at what he did. My regret was not standing up for him. He just took it and quietly disappeared. It didn’t create an enjoyable experience for my friend and I. Probably won’t go back...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed, especially since I love this style of restaurant. The Italian beef sandwich was awful—extremely chewy with soggy bread. I couldn't chew the meat at all. The grilled cheese appetizer was also not good. The service was shockingly poor, with our dripping, sweaty, slow, and confused waiter. It was not the service we expected, and we noticed others expressing similar dissatisfaction.
The appearance of the staff was surprising, with half-shaved heads, green hair, and full neck and face tattoos. I wouldn't have minded this at all if we had received good service. It was difficult to get water for the first 20 minutes, and ordering actual drinks felt like a chore. Ordering food was even more of a challenge for our server even though the menu is small. Overall, I was truly disappointed with the...
