You've gotta love it. Mission BBQ makes some truly tasty brisket (if you order it moist, don't get the lean if you want a party in your mouth). From when you walk in the atmosphere screams southern. Mission really does represent its name well. They are a very charitable organization, they believe in southern hospitality, and they do southern food right.

To elaborate on their charity, you can bring back the souvenir cups they sell. These souvenir cups are seasonal, and each season a new rotation of cups with diffetent branding are showcased. The proceeds of sales from the cup you and refill goes to a specific charity. My cup, for example, goes to the surviving children and families of special ops soldiers that lost their lives out there. The cup is great business, and it feels like I'm making a small difference. But when you add up everything supporting the program indirectly it amounts to a lot of money.

To detail their southern hospitality more, their staff is committed to offering exceptional service. One time a guy was new and he missed my order. Being a hungry customer, of course I was angry. I went "on strike" for a month (I actually forgot about the incident until I returned) but I saw that same person behind the counter calling out orders. This time they made sure to get my order right. But he also went the extra mile in stopping by our table, offering anything else to us, and making a point to right his previous err. I was astounded.

Lastly, and certainly not least, they know how to cook that food. My favorite items on the meat market menu are the moist brisket and the pulled pork. Others have praised the pulled chicken and some other items. Their side dishes are also tasteful. My personal favorites are the mac-n-cheese and fries. They also have baked beans, collard greens, and several other items.

In addition to the food, they have six select sauces that compliment the meat or poultry very well. Every time I go I've gotta get some out that gator bite.
