My husband is Italian when I asked him what he would like to eat for dinner after church he was not sure. I suggested we should go Thai this time. There was hesitation. As for me I enjoy Thai food. We were not sure where we can go to have really good Thai food. I searched interest around Wheaton area because that is where we are going to pickup our kid after dinner. Came across this restaurant and saw it had excellent reviews. He goes...GO FOR IT! I called they were busy but they accommodated us despite their current situation. The restaurant was easy to find and get too. Parking was pretty simple across the street it can't get any simpler than that. Got there, waited for less than 10 minutes a large group just finished and was leaving and we got seated. Service was great even though there was little confusion with our order nothing that we could not settle. My husband love it and said we should go back there again. He could not stop talking about this place all weekend long. This is why I rated them 5 stars! My husband is willing to try new food but getting out of his comfort zone can be a bit challenging at times. I am sure some of you can relate. We will surely go back to Mai Thai Cafe. Prices were reasonable. People are very friendly always has a smiling face despite being so busy. Everything...
Read moreI'm surprised this place has an overall rating of four stars. I've been here twice, both times were disappointing, and I will not be giving it a third chance. My first visit, I had Pad Thai. It was flavorless and boring. Second visit, I went for the Pad See Ew, which is normally a terrific balance of salty and sweet. This was not. Again, completely flavorless and boring. I know to cook Thai food and with all the spices that go into it, I have no clue how to produce a flavorless Thai meal, but Mai Thai defies convention and found a way! It's not terrible, but it's definitely not good. I agree with another reviewer that recommended Thai Thai Express, a few miles away in Glen Ellyn. I've been there 10+ times and their food is much tastier and the people there have always been really friendly. Simply Thai on Liberty Rd is also quite good. Thai Thai Express and Simply Thai are both closed today and I'm dying for Thai food, but I will wait until tomorrow rather than ordering from...
Read moreI cannot stress this enough, this is by far the best Thai restaurant in the Western Suburbs if not the whole Chicago land area! It has lunch hours from 11:30-2:30 and does dinner as well. The food is consistently some of the best Thai I've had anywhere in the world. They use the traditional birds eye chilli in most of the dishes and pan toast and grind the chilli's every day. The open kitchen gives the dinning room a peak into what must be some sort of magic factory where dreams are created. The vegetables are always fresh and the chicken, beef, and seafood tastes as if it were dipped in gold. Warning this food is SPICY (as it should be) If you have an aversion to spicy food make sure to let them know before dining. If you like to stare into the fiery gaze that is the signature Thai flavor you will not be disappointed. Try the bananas and coconut milk for desert and thank me later....
