I ordered the new pizza meatball sub online last week, and let me just say no one could've prepared me for the life changes I would experience as a result. As I sauntered through the door to pick up my much anticipated sammich, young David (or maybe it was Nathan, I can't remember) informed me that he had spent much time perfecting my dinner. I foolishly scoffed at the time and thought to myself, "a sandwich is a sandwich" but in hindsight, words can not express how true his warning would ring. I arrived at home and unboxed my delicious treat not knowing what a blessing from David and the heavens I was about to receive. As I opened the box and unwrapped my meatball delight, audible gasps of disbelief and sheer jealousy could be heard from all around. One family member even passed out at the direct sight of it. What lay before me was nothing less than a freaking masterpiece, the holy grail of all meatball sammies. Eyes shrouded in tears, I snapped several pictures of it in awe that something could be so beautiful. As I snapped away and taunted my housemates that it was mine and all mine, a daunting fear snuck upon me. The knowingness that my lovely morsel of meatball joy was begrudginly growing colder by the minute. I could not, would not eat this paragon of subs cold. David and Nathan would not want that for me, I told myself. I picked up my masterpiece and as I took the first bite, hot tears streamed down my face. Tears of joy, because nothing anywhere in the world has ever tasted as good as this piece of nirvana on toasted wheat bread tasted. Also, tears of bitterness and disdain at the thought of destroying it, much like it would feel to know you have singlehandedly destroyed a precious and priceless Van Gogh painting. We are now a week out from that fateful day, and I am so thankful that the heavens and young David picked me to be the recipient of what I can only describe as sandwich divinity. Gordon Ramsey and Jesus himself could not have made a better one. Thank you David or possibly Nathan, for your service to the Firehouse sub lovers of sandWichita, for the time, energy and the unabashed love that you shamelessly put into each and every sandwich you create. We do not...
Read moreLet me start by saying that Firehouse off of Ridge Rd is one of my FAVORITES and I normally have zero issues. But tonight they definitely dropped the ball. I placed an online order for pickup at 6:25. My wife went to go pick it up. When she got there at the designated time, the young lady at the register informed her there was no order showing in the system. So my wife stepped out to call me, where I then sent her pictures of the order receipt and confirmation. When my wife returned back in the store, the same young lady at the register seemed to have an attitude like my wife was making this whole thing up. She then called over who I'm guessing was the store lead who told her to write our order down and they would go ahead and make it. Awesome! My wife then sat in the store until almost 7:15 waiting (not super busy either). When my wife got home, we realized that almost half of our order was not correct. To say all of this, I'm not upset about 90% of it. Technology has issues, things happen, orders are made wrong occasionally. But the attitude is what did us in. My wife patiently waited for almost an hour with no complaints, yet from the start there was a negative attitude and at the end not so much as a "sorry for the wait" was offered. I've never had this issue before, polar opposite...

I walked in to this location and was extremely hungry. I had a few friends at my house and a plumber (unfortunately) and was going to buy lunch for everyone. The workers there said hello with a smile and made me feel very welcomed. I could see they were moderately busy and I kind of felt bad for the big order I was about to spring on them.
I needed 4 medium subs and a large sub. The worker smiled and said no problem, we got this. And they went to work immediately. They were able to get my order done effectively and efficiently without any issues. They were also able to get other people's orders out on time. I watched as they made sure everything was nicely packaged and made with care.
After witnessing all of this I was inspired to buy a bucket to further support first responders. If you go to this location and something happens where something isn't right, I'm a firm believer that it was user error and you are the user. These guys deserve raises and praises. Will definitely be using this location for all of my sub sandwich needs. Thank you fire house for employing such...
