This hotel is listed as a two star hotel and I would say was a "maybe" 3 star experience due to bedding, sleep comfort, and not following COVID protocols. I wasn't very impressed and won't stay here again for the price. There are cheaper hotel suites in the area. I was very disappointed in this representation of the Marriott brand. Details below.....
COVID 19... About 75% of staff did not follow protocol regarding wearing masks in public spaces even behind the front desk. This was also not enforced with guests. I am immuno compromised and this bothered me tremendously! Location ...Excellent location. Close to airport and multiple shopping options and restaurants. CAUTION be careful following google maps to get to the hotel. If coming from the east side you must use a dirt road behind the hotel to access the hotel as the street in front Kellogg is a one way street and Google Maps directed us to turn the wrong way down a one way street! Staff...Very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness... Very clean and maintained daily. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Space and Room Layout... Spacious King Suite well designed and suited for either business or family stays. The frosted divider between the sitting area and sleeping area where the bed is located is nice. Separate bathroom with closing door had plenty of space with good sized walk in shower. Good water pressure in shower with easily adjusted flow settings on shower head. Pull out sofa would easily accommodate two adults. Small closet off sleeping area with plenty of space for hanging clothes. Nice sized dresser with four standard sized drawers. Sleep Comfort...Not impressive! In my opinion, below what I expect from Marriott. Linens were cheap quality. Sheets and towels were rough. The bed was extremely hard which I found uncomfortable. The pillows again were cheap quality and uncomfortable. Hot Breakfast... Mixed reviews on this experience. Due to COVID the self serve buffet style hot food was prepackaged in styrofoam containers (biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage on Saturday, then breakfast burritos Sunday). The food itself was prepared well and tasted fine. Other prepackaged items were available such as cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. This was all set up with coffee, juice, etc in the buffet/kitchen area on the weekend. Really disappointing was that on Monday or during the week, this is all behind the front desk and you have go to the desk and ask for it instead of serve yourself. I am not sure the reason behind that but it is not nearly as convenient. Pool/hot tub...Nice and clean. Very nice that both have a handicap accessible seat to lower someone into the the water.
Update to Hotel Manager upset about my review. In response to your reply to my review. I WAS a registered guest and stayed the weekend of 3/28/21 and have the receipt. I will not post that information publicly. Your reply is incredibly defensive for someone who was doing everything right. You did NOT review video or you would have seen your staff not wearing masks. Funny you are upset that I did not mention dividers at the front desk apparently you missed all the other positive comments as well. I stand by my review it is an accurate representation of my experience I will...
Read moreI have been a loyal Marriott customer and card holder for over a decade and my experience on a recent trip here as changed all of that. I was traveling for business and rented 5 rooms and a conference room for a meeting. After checking out the hotel charged me $500 for a broken box spring. From the pictures I requested it looks like the box spring cracked on one side. This was most likely from being placed in the bed frame incorrectly. Over time box springs made of particle board and ply wood crack especially if they are sitting in furniture wrong. I did not feel the box spring break as it was on the other side of the bed and most likely was broken from the start. What is the most upsetting about the whole situation is that the hotel accused me of leaving the room with the mattress on the floor, the box spring flipped up against wall, and broken. This was obviously the team taking pictures of the box spring and not the way I left the room at 5am before my flight. Either way they were trying to charge me $500 for a box spring that I did not break, if it did break was normal wear and tear, and at most cost the hotel $80. I felt the employees were basically calling me a liar by insisting that I left the mattress on the floor and box spring up against a wall. It was maddening that no one would tell the truth or put two and two together. The manager did not call me back or return emails in timely fashion. She refused to refund the charge. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and at that point they said they would not challenge my dispute. But they still would not just process the refund. So I have to do all the leg work of calling the credit card company, printing forms, mailing them to the credit credit company, waiting for a decision. The most frustrating part of all of this. I can't believe they put all on the work on me to fight this when they could simply do the right thing and just refund the charge. I am almost three weeks out from that trip and still dealing with this $500 charge. This experience and the lack of communication and reasoning has left me feeling that Marriott is not the brand I thought it was. There are a lot of options when traveling and I want one that is hassle free and...
Read moreExtensive review! Prob the worst Springhill Suites we've stayed in. Needs improvements. Staff was nice and helpful. It was disappointing. One bed was right in front of the bathroom with a sliding glass door, which casted a spotlight on anyone trying to sleep while others showered. Not sure why, but when we would leave during the day, and come back during the evening, the a/c would be 10 degrees higher. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so after showers, it stayed humid and wet. The mini fridge is too small, and it was frosted over inside, reducing the space even more. Not sure why, but every hotel has tiny trash cans. When you stay somewhere for several days, a little trash can doesn't work. Where are we supposed to put trash at? The ceiling on the hallway side had what appeared to be mold from a leak. The bar is closed. The pool is small, and the pool area has flying bugs. My son got out and had mesquito looking bites several places on him. I was constantly waving my arm to shoo away whatever was flying around. The pool area was very humid also. The parking lot side door was constantly not working. It only opened once for me. I had to park on the end every night and then walked around to the front to get in. Lots of what I called international traffic. Prob because it's right by the airport. There are good choices for restaurants/food close by. There was a lot of walking traffic after dark. The kind that makes you wonder if your vehicle was going to get broke into or get mugged. The area seemed like one that was run down, but they were trying to fix it up by building new things. I know of 2 other families that didn't stay the other 2 nights and went to another hotel. Again, the staff seemed nice and helpful, but the hotel itself needs improvements. Not sure where we caught a bug, but we're all feeling sick now that we're home. Feels like we have colds. Coughing, headaches,...
