Hot Spot Cafe: Pizzeria and Restaurant. — Restaurant in Wildwood

We ate dinner here twice. The first time I had eggplant parmigiana side of spaghetti wife had falafel on pita and fries it was decent (3 stars) Nothing to write home about but ok. The hostess/cashier was a very sweet, kind and professional person (probably the best thing about this place).

Night two was a disaster. They have Fish & Chips on the menu (99% of places have no clue and it’s just breaded fish and fries) it was Tuesday after the big labor day wk’end. So it was slow and the cooks and manager/owner were sitting in a booth chatting, our waiter was from another country, here for only 7 days. So I got up and went over to ask,”is this real fish & chips(?) is it battered or just breaded flounder? The chief spoke up saying it’s real battered fish & chips. Then I asked,”look I’m 6’2” 230lbs is it enough food for me for dinner?” The owner/manager turned around and spoke up saying,”yes,yes it’s good.” It was the biggest RIP OFF I’ve ever experienced in an eatery. Do Not Trust these money greedy liars!!! It was 3 fish sticks and the rest fries. Unbelievable- I didn’t want to ruin our mini vacation by making a scene. My wife ordered Ravioli and a ceaser salad which was huge. I ate the Measly Terrible Pathetic portion of fish sticks - then enjoyed the salad and my wife couldn’t finish her ravioli- I tried a bite, to me it was no better then grocery-store frozen food. This place is no better then a 3 star, hoagies and basic food is ok but do not trust them to make a real dinner. And as you know all the boardwalk prices are totally over inflated! We will never go there again, never. The different from the first night cashier was egregiously rude uncaring and unprofessional. She laughed at my information about my dinner’s overtly small portion not even enough for lunch and said nothing to ease the pain of being ripped off!! $17.99 for 3 fish sticks & fries. We Went to Macks Pizza and I ate 2 slices of awesome pizza which was great service & great food I even bought a T shirt to remember them (Macks). I’ve visited this place in 2021,2022,2023 season and I can assure you every year it’s getting better and better. Quality of food and service it’s consistently improving. I found out they have a new management, a team of young guys with great standards and tremendous drive. I found out also from them how they switched from buying many of their premade products to in house production and I can even tell that’s true from the taste the food has. I can definitely recommend anything coming from the grill as well as their always fresh salads! their feta cheese it’s just an authentic greek feta and their tzatziki sauce tastes fantastic due to the fact it’s made in house always with fresh ingredients! If you haven’t try them yet you should, and if you tried them seasons before just do it again, you would be surprised how much they are improving day by day. The attention to customer experience is something you hardly find in seasonal places like Wildwood! Great...

Save your money and SKIP right past this disaster of a place. Ordered a large pizza a cheese steak and a kids Mac and cheese. The pizza was pretty much inedible. I have no clue how you could mess up pizza so bad at a pizza place. There was hardly any sauce or cheese and the dough was absolutely disgusting and the whole thing was completely FLAVORLESS!!!! . I literally had to order a side of nacho cheese, hoping that I can dip the pizza in for some type of flavor and that’s AFTER I drowned it in every seasoning on the table. We had to order the mac & cheese for somebody at our table who couldn’t chew through the hard dried out flavorless crust.
