Wildwood New Jersey still has those diamonds in the rough. That diamond is the Surfcomber motel run by Michael. You are made to feel at home and welcome. Very clean and cozy, the location is 1 block from the Wildwood beachballs and there are food establishments all in walking distance. The convention is just a short walk from the motel. Roughly 1 block from the boardwalk. We are looking forward to booking again here at the Surfcomber. Thanks again Michael for taking care of our booking and getting us situated with our room.

This is a nice clean motel, 1 block off the beach, right in the heart of Wildwood. The parking is tight but it was free and much appreciated. There were families staying there. It has a small pool. There was a fridge and tv to stream to (but I did not figure that out). The Wi-Fi was not very good but I don’t go to the beach for Wi-Fi or TV. It is a easy walk to nice restaurants: Uncle Bill’s for breakfast and Duffinetti’s for dinner and I recommend them. I would come back and stay again.

My best Wildwood motel. We have been coming to Wildwood for years. The motel is perfect in the pure tradition of the place. The location is perfect. The room is very clean and the pool is large.

Okay, last weekend in September, so maybe it doesn't pay to have someone sitting in the office all day. Just be aware that if you need service, you'll need to make a phone call and wait for the manager (Mike). This isn't a complaint. Mike was very personable and addressed our concerns promptly.

Unfortunately, there were several problems that dampened our little post-season getaway:

NO HOT WATER. We called Mike Saturday morning to let him know we had no hot water. He called back about an hour later said everything was fixed. We were out for the day so we didn't have a chance to check. That evening, I let the water in the bathroom sink run for 5 minutes and started to get warm water, so we assumed we would eventually have hot water. The next morning we couldn't even get the warm water. We had an infant with us and had to use cold water to wash out her bottles.

The room was pretty clean overall. There was some dust on chairs and the top of the refrigerator, but no big deal.

There was only one accessible outlet. The two outlets in the nightstand fixture were well-worn and you had to bend the prongs of your plugs or hold them in to use them.

If you're looking for a clean place to crash that's close to the beach, this is a great place to stay. If you have a need for hot water, you might do better...

our first night the motel seemed like a nice place to stay for myself my 9 month old baby and boyfriend. although we could hear people yelling through the paper thin walls that night at around 1200 am. The next day things got worse we kept smelling marijuna coming through our bathroom and the fumes were getting overhwelming for our son so we went to the boardwalk coming back in a few hours we thought it would be gone but no the smell was getting worse when we advised the manager on duty michelle she said she smelt it and did nothing meanwhile we had a baby with us. my boyfriend was not happy . he went to get some ice lucky there was any left and he saw people shooting up heroin in the parking lot and thats when he told me to pack our stuff we were leaving when we spoke to the manager she did not even offer us our money back knowing we had a small infant with us horrible customer service worst 354 dollars we ever spent will never stay here again manager sits in office reading all day while people are getting high lovely family...

I’m going to give this motel a very honest review. It is old, but very well kept, as far as appearances. To be honest, it felt more like an apartment complex, than a motel. Like a place where people actually lived. That aside, the rooms are small. My bedroom at home was bigger than the double bed room we stayed in, including the bathroom. There’s no ventilation, except a tiny bathroom window. It’s either a/c on or a/c off. And the a/c worked great, despite being so loud we could barely hear the tv lol. We didn’t have any complaints, and didn’t need to ask for anything while we were there. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The worst part, if any, was the giant water bug that crawled out of the shower drain on our last day there. Needless to say, we showered at home. Bottom line? I wouldn’t stay there again. I’d pay more for just a little bit more of an upgrade somewhere else. But if you’re there for the beach and boardwalk, as we were, then it’ll do. I just can’t justify paying almost $500 for two...
