I was not a new customer, I’ve been coming here for 10 years every time we are in Wildwood, my husband for 15. But NEVER again.
My husband, son and my son stopped by for a lovely brunch on Sunday afternoon before we headed to the beach. But instead was humiliated and disrespected like never before.
We set at the table where there was a tip from the previous customer. While we were settling in and went to wash our hands, once we came back the money was gone. My husband still sat at the table, but didn’t pay attention which waitress picked up the money.
After that our waitress took our order and left. Then she came back asking if we saw who took the tips. We didn’t really see - they all wear uniform. Then she came back asking for exact description of the waitress. We apologized, but said that we didn’t really pay attention.
She started going around and ask all customer around us, pointing at our table if they saw what happened with the tip. Can you imagine!
Then the managed brought the check and open up with” I am not trying to accuse you, BUT…. If you happen to find the money, please bring them to the register. I spoke with everyone and they didn’t take it”. All of it was happening with my son present. Such a humiliation. We tried to tell her that other waitress/waiter took it. On the way out I asked for her name and a copy of our check and said that I was in shock to be accused like that. Mature lady came up to me and told me that manager - Yvonne R. has been through enough already. And that’s the end of it. And they are all friends there. Whatever it means. Probably covering up for each other. The manager should not be a friend, she should supervisor and manager first, and make sure their staff is acting respectful to the customers. Get a control of your wait staff, so they don’t humiliate and disrespect innocent people.
When we were walking all the waitresses were standing there and they starred yelling things at us, again, with my son present, such a disrespect and humiliation.
When we were driving out, all in shock and I was shaking in the car, the waitress saw us in the car from outside and started yelling at us and doing head guestures!
I HAVE NEVER BEEN humiliated like this in my entire life. People who work there have no respect and no level on intelligence. Too bad I’ve been coming there for too long and gave a lot of business to this place.
If you read this review, please don’t ever go there. Customers give them the business, but to insult there long term customer like that is not something you call customer service. Uneducated people thinking they are kings and ready to humiliate entire family including young child, because the manager does not have the control of her staff and I had to watch her servers and made sure I remember how the server...
Read moreIf you have come down to this review, definitely know that all the good reviews of this diner are by their own waitresses/Waiters. We had the misfortunae of having so-call breakfast here after having breakfast at an amazing diner (Marvin's Diner, few blocks down from disappointing Uncle Ben's. ) yesterday. Here is our testimony of this place: 1. All of the host are wanna-be sorority members and cheerleaders, and one particular who looks to be in her thirties was still pretending to be part of her young Entourage; 2. Nobody will attend you to even ask you for the coffee unless you actually go ahead and ask them to come to your table (which is something my husband had to do); 3. Their egg menu, which supposedly is a main part of the breakfast, was squeezed in the corner of their ONE PAGE menu; 4. When we were about to leave without ordering and waiting, the waitress came and acted to be "accommodating" enough to talk us into staying telling us that we'll get you guys your egg however you guys want them. However soon I will see her going to her colleagues and talking about us because her colleague looked right at us with literally widen eyes (I just happened to catch her looking dead in my eyes and was not expecting me to look that direction); 5. While we waited for our food, one of the "cheerleaders " came and started brooming the carpet floor right behind us....I will repeat... started to BROOM the carpeted floor (if you still did not get my point, I want you guys to put a white plate on your table, put a little rug next to it, and I want you to broom that rug. And then I want you to evaluate the dust debris that will be coat your white plate); 6. When the food finally came , the portion was so disappointing. It was the smallest omelet I had ever witness despite the cheese in it; 7. I had asked for provolone and American cheese in my egg, but unfortunately American cheese never made it to my plate; 8. I practically had to catch my waitress for her to refill our glass with water and coffee before she disappear after taking the order of another incoming victims.
It was just a VERY horrible...
Read moreHard to explain our experience in a Google review. There isn't enough space to effectively tell the story. My family of 6 came to Uncle Bill's for breakfast and were sat immediately. We have 4 young children and asked waitress about kids menu and she said yes and pointed to a few items that were on adult menu that were similar. We wanted pancakes w chocolate chips. The adult menu item was $4 cheaper than what we paid for kids chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Our waitress had 0 common sense. Suggest items that would make sense. It doesnt make sense to charge $11 for a kids meal. My husband's food came and he asked if he could get salt, pepper, hot sauce and ketchup. She brought back a bottle of Tabasco sauce with 2 drops in it. He sat there waiting (as his food got cold) and watched he stop at a table to take their order. Why wouldnt you just get the condiments and make sure the people with the food are ok before you take other orders? Or better yet, like most places, have the condiments all set before the food arrives. My husband sent back his food and told her it was cold. She never offered to make it right, remake, take off bill and send him home with it to go, send over a manager...anything. The manager at this restaurant has no idea how to handle customers. When he talked to her about the absurd charge for a kids pancake w bacon meal she said "do you want to take a menu home to study it so you know what you're ordering next time?" I have never in my life heard of someone in a manager position be so condescending and a complete lack of understanding and empathy. No apologies or regret our experience was awful. She kept saying "well you should have brought it to our attention" We did bring it to your attention, we went into speak to a manager. Of all the places in Wildwood to eat, please do yourself a favor and go to any other establishment than here. Overpriced, incompetent waitress,...
