I and a friend had a room booked for us at the Royal Court Motel by a friend since we were all attending a convention together. Within our timeframe (9/12-14/24) rooms were extremely scarce that were close to the Wildwood Convention Center so our choices were limited and, sadly, this was our only option. ||Please stay away from this motel. Our room was #224 and it was a hell hole. The door to the unit was too short so there was about a 3-to-4-inch gap at the bottom which allowed a number of bugs in. We noticed this the first night and made a request to the cleaning lady for some extra towels to block the opening at least during the night. They were never delivered. Following this, we made a second request to the manager who noted they would be delivered…again, no towels. Additionally, we noticed light coming through the entire door and it seemed plywood was placed over the middle of the door but there was no complete seal. We suspected this door had, at some point, been broken through the middle and a quick fix followed.||The floors were sticky and you did not dare walk on them with bare feet (something I don’t do in any motel/hotel). Both the bathroom and kitchenette floors were dirty since, when we had some water spill on the floors, the napkins we used to wipe up came up black.||Bathroom – If you prefer bar soap, bring your own. There are also no facial tissues so don’t forget those. On a positive note, there was plenty of hot water but the hot water handle in the tub/shower leaks like crazy so, once that hot water heats up, you’ll need to use extreme caution (have a wash cloth handy) to turn it down. Also, use extreme caution in the shower since there is no shower mat. Likewise, there is no mat to step on when getting out of the tub so make sure you have a towel ready since you want your clean feet off that floor.||Kitchenette – There is a small microwave and a coffee pot. The refrigerator is one you’d find in a dorm room but it’s up on a shelf made of fiberboard and that fiberboard is coming apart. There is also a small table with two chairs. The stove has two burners but there is a burn mark about the size of a soft ball on the wall behind the stove indicating there was a fire at some point.||Bedroom – Lighting is extremely poor and the light fixtures on the walls are not very sturdy. Additionally, the switches are flimsy. There are few outlets so you’d want to have a power strip. I had one but couldn’t locate an open outlet so opted plugging it into a kitchen outlet. The mattress was horrible but I didn’t expect much. There were four pillows and sheets and pillow cases appeared clean; however, God only knows when the quilt was last cleaned. There is a wall mounted tv and, thankfully, it worked. The friend who booked the rooms arrived later and when she got to her room, found a tv with a shattered screen. This was the second incident we heard of like this and the manager remarked that the motel had hosted a convention of bikers the prior week.||Air Conditioning/Windows – There is a wall air conditioner located in the kitchenette. At first use, we thought it had only two speeds – high and off. Experimenting, we were able to adjust the heating option but that didn’t make it any better for the person sleeping directly adjacent to the kitchenette. Any time the unit was on, it blew directly on that person…so uncomfortable. We would have liked to open the windows; however, the knobs to open the jalousie windows were broken. The one we thought we could open in the bedroom did not have a screen.||Parking – Parking is always at a premium in Wildwood, so it’s done ‘piggyback’ and the manager asks for your car keys. We lucked out since we had a compact car and were able to park in a better spot, keeping the keys. This didn’t last long since the manager had another car park behind us and that delayed our departure on check-out day.||I imagine this venue takes in a good dollar from those organizations attending functions at the Wildwood Convention Center. It would be to their benefit if they kept up their facilities with future functions in mind. In this case, we will steer clear of the Royal Court Motel...

Great with last minute booking for a one night stay as this week was Country Music festival great for Wildwood Boardwalk Business economy it was great to see so many families enjoying the beach board walk amusement parks. For the Royal Court Motel it's definitely time for some upgrades to the property.
Due to the location it's great cross Atlantic Ave and your right there at the boardwalk entrance Convention center Shopping mail other board walk established business always a great opportunity to see.
Parking limited to one parking space per room so prepare to park walk ride bikes and enjoy the beach.
For the room/suite there's much to be desired the room door locked but was not a secure door. Cleanliness on a scale of one to ten as a family we agreed that it was definitely a one, sofa bed upgrade over due, drawers didn't close properly and or at all. For family trips packing disinfecting wipes maybe a portable broom and dust pans Lysol spray you know how Mom's do before the family can touch and or bring items in we have to inspect wipe down and pray for family love unity peace respect for life breathe covering or maybe I'm the only one you may even go as far as supplying your own sheets a plus a family dollar store is right there across the street should you forget and or book it arrive and feel disappointed yes booking business vacation or simply overnight stays will either make you or break you as nothing beats a beautiful experience and a great night sleep.
This establishment has it's trouble as the notice on the second deck pool area needs some immediate attention we don't know the cost but concern if this business will continue under the ownership or will it become a great investment for someone with a great vision for the prime beachfront property real estate hospitality motel company restoration.
Note: Because guests of all ages come to enjoy the beautiful Wildwood beaches and boardwalk not everyone understands the importance of the quiet hours between 10:30pm until 6am rule although I get it everyone pays to stay however be mindful that not everyone wants to hear loud talking play and movement throughout the quiet hours. Not sure how much responsibility of that is as most establishments provide the information verbally as well as in writing upon check in yet each guest has the responsibility to comply or not comply. Truly sign's that we all need a moment of peace and young people like to enjoy themselves just be mindful that not everyone doesn't want to join your party so let's ensure that quite hours are being honored and respected.
Outside of these little things it was a family bonding moment once again as everyone has worked hard this school year with their studies getting promoted and graduating we made the best of the moment and stay at the establishment we enjoyed the Founders Pub and Macks Pizza just to name a few everyone had a safe fun trip and we are ready for the summer Wildwood days just won't be at this establishment until some improvements are done drapery furniture and definitely room door security.
