Have been going to precarious since they opened, it was a fun new spot and the beer was good. It is clear that they have some issues going on, the quality of their beer has dropped notably, the food is expensive but at the same level as tbell or wendys, and more importantly their customer relations is abysmal. Participated in an 8 week trivia tournament there, spending hundreds of dollars on their overpriced beer during the span of it, so did the rest of our 6 person team, and so did every other team that participated. At the end of the tournament which they were sponsoring the prizes for, they revealed that first place was a shirt, second place was a hat. Not even special ones, we watched the manager grab it off their merch rack. Mind you these were teams of 6+ splitting a single shirt after 8 weeks. The only reason people were doing the tournament is because the previous year VBC hosted and the prizes were whole vacations paid for. Maybe money is tight, but somehow they still have money to put in 3 new LED screens for digital posters every time we go. They even pulled the rug on the mc who thought they were gonna have actual prizes to give out. It’s not all bad though, service seems to be really good if you’re under 21 though because they keep getting busted for serving minors, then get in trouble with ABC and take it out on their regulars by being grumpy and snippy. Don’t waste your time going here, go to VBC, Billsburg, or Aleworks, better beer and waaay better service. Not sure where the issue lies, Amber Ox which i think is under the same ownership used to be mediocre but has only gotten better and better over the years with great food quality and awesome service these days so it’s probably just a middle management issue, maybe the manager pocketed the money for the prizes without the owners knowing, just seems weird that one location is filled with all-stars and the other is filled with benchwarmers, the difference couldn’t be more night and day.
To owner: this has been my personal honest review based on my experience and from what i was told by YOUR employees. If this information is false you should have informed them to not use that as the explanation for stricter carding policy being put in. Very passive aggressive response, I understand why things are going the way they are. Best of luck with your future...
Read moreFood was good. Concept nice. However, the non alcoholic drink choices are a cup of water without ice, bottled water, a bottle of tea, and canned drinks. Not a fan of places that have great food and nice family atmosphere, but miss such an obvious mark by not even offering cups with ice with fountain drinks. I would probably even pay sub-Disney prices just to have a fountain drink with refills at this place. You would never think it wouldn't already have regular fountain drinks based on the nice environment. Definitely incongruent with how nice the place is. I get it.... their main revenue stream is the beer taps and brewery appeal, but they are missing out on a huge opportunity to make customers more happy by cashing in on upgrades to nonalcoholic fountain drinks and choices (Coke Zero, Sprite, and so forth) and also charging a good profit margin price on them. Install the fountain drinks!!! We literally left as a family after eating to go give someone else our money to have basic fountain drink choices. A cup of lukewarm water from from Precarious wasn't cutting it. Otherwise we would have stuck around longer, probably spent way more money the longer we stayed, and they would have greater returning customer acquisition outcomes. Having enjoyable fountain beverage choices to drink with food is way too important, and universally...
Read moreIf you're looking for a chill, fun place to bring your kids, FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. The management of this place is NOT understanding or fair to parents so be warned. I was recently with a large group of kids and parents at Precarious Beer Project after the kids had a soccer game. We spent hundreds of dollars (maybe over a thousand honestly between all the video games, beer and food) and were having a great time. The only thing is that one kid was a picky eater and wouldn't eat anything but pizza, which we couldn't get at Precarious. She is only 9 and she was really hungry so one of the parents got her a slice of cheese across the street and brought it back to Precarious. A staff member came over and started being really aggressive and confrontational with a NINE YEAR OLD. Some parents tried to step in and talk reason to this guy but he was not having it. We asked for a manager. The manager who came out DOUBLED DOWN and said the 9 year old could not each the ONE SLICE of pizza. This is craziness. If you are a parent or have young kids with you, just know this place is totally NOT understanding and clearly managed by people who would rather make a 9 year old cry than break one precious...
